ABSTRACT
Male factor infertility is described as presence of one or more abnormalities in the sperm analysis as well as poor sexual or ejaculatory function. Oligoasthenospermia is a condition characterised by low spermatozoan count and impaired motility. Idiopathic Oligoasthenospermia is responsible for 1/4th of all male infertility case. The aim and objectives of the study is to improve the Total sperm count and Rapid progressive motility by giving individualized homoeopathic medicine
METHODS
This study was undertaken at Sarada Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College Hospital & its peripheral centres. 10 patients with symptoms of male infertility were selected randomly and semen analysis test, Total sperm count and Rapid progressive motility were estimated both before and after treating with homoeopathic medicine for the follow up period of 65 days.
Result was analysed statistically to evaluate the effects of homoeopathic medicine in Oligoasthenospermia patients
RESULT
Out of 10 cases, 8 cases showed improvement in Total sperm count and Rapid progressive motility. 2 cases did not show improvement. The result is statistically significant at p<0.05 in both parameters of total sperm count and rapid progressive motility.
CONCLUSION
The study shows that Individualized homoeopathic medicine is effective in Oligoasthenospermia of male infertility by improving Total sperm count and Rapid progressive motility and thereby improves the fertility of male.
