Instructions for MRSPTU PhD Admission Aspirants & PET Jan - 2023

A:

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDIDATES WHO WANT TO APPEAR IN Ph.D ENTRANCE TEST (PET) JAN–2023 OF MRSPTU, BATHINDA

1. Read the PhD Regulations-2016 of MRSPTU very carefully (available on www.mrsptu.ac.in).

2. Candidates who are not exempted from PhD entrance test shall have to appear in Ph.D.

Entrance Test PET (Jan-2023) for seeking admission in the PhD program of MRSPTU, Bathinda.

3. All such candidates shall register themselves for PET (Jan-2023) by filling up registration form as available on University web-site.

4. After that, login detail will be sent through email. Candidates need to login in portal using login credential. After login candidate will see the online payment tab. then he/she will deposit the fee using any online mean.

5. PET form is to be filled ONLINE after registration and fee deposition. Steps for filling of application form is given as Annexure – 1.

6. The last date of online form filling complete in all respects is 13.02.2023 (Monday). No separate hard-copy is to be sent. After successful submission of PET form candidate shall be intimated electronically automatically.

7. Admit card for the eligible candidates shall be available in their login ID, 15.02.2023 onwards..

8. All correspondence shall be made on the e-mail id/mobile number given by the candidate in the application form, so the candidates should be very careful in giving these details.

9. University shall not be responsible for any lapse of intimation on account of wrong mail-id/phone number.

10. The date of written examination is 17th February 2023, Friday.

11. The complete schedule (Calendar) of PET (Jan-2023) is uploaded on University web-site.

Candidates must remain in touch with the latest directions/updates on the University web-site.

B:

INSTRUCTIONS FOR Ph.D ENTRANCE TEST EXEMPTED CANDIDATES FOR MRSPTU PhD ADMISSION JANUARY-JUNE 2023

1. Read the latest MRSPTU PhD Regulations-2016 very carefully (available on www.mrsptu.ac.in).

2. Download and fill up the PhD admission form, as available on University website and submit it personally or by registered post complete in all respects by 13.02.2023 (Monday) at following address.

APPLICATION FORM FOR Ph.D. ADMISSION (JANUARY – 2023) FACULTY (applied for): DISCIPLINE (applied for)_

Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Dabwali Road, Bathinda-151001 Incomplete forms shall be rejected without any intimation, so the form should be filled up very carefully and all self-attested (not original) requisite documents must be attached. The application should be accompanied by fee of Rs. 2000/- to be paid through bank draft.

3. Rs. 2000/- as processing fee shall be deposited as fee through bank draft, payable to “The Registrar, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda” at Central Bank of India, Bathinda.

C:

Common Instruction for category A and B Candidates

1. Separate forms need to be filled for applying to different DISCIPLINES/FACULTIES.

2. Fee once paid will be non-refundable.

3. List of MRSPTU approved supervisors in various discipline is available on University web-site.

4. Availability of supervisors shall be as per the latest UGC guidelines (maximum supervision/co- supervision candidates at any time for Assistant Prof: Associate Professor: Professor :: 4 : 6 : 8 respectively. Supervisor must be from the concerned FACULTY and MRSPTU affiliated Institute, and from the list uploaded on the University website for Ph.D. Admissions 2022-23 (Winter Session).

5. Eligible candidates shall be intimated separately through email/phone for appearing in Interview, so the candidates are advised to keep their Research proposal/ Presentations/Supervisor consent ready for presentation/discussion before the concerned Department Doctoral Research Committee (DDRC) members.

6. Mere qualifying PET or appearance in PhD Interview will not entitle a student for admission.

7. Phone No and e-mail Id should be CORRECT and checked regularly for latest directions/updates and any official communication in this concern.

8. PhD Course work shall be in REGULAR manner for Full-Time as well as Part-Time candidates at MRSPTU. So, “No Objection Certificate (NOC)” from the employer is must in this regard for in-service candidates at the time of Interview, and later he/she shall have to relieved by his/her employer for successful completion of Pre-Ph.D. course work.

9. In the Application Form FT means Full Time Regular PhD candidates i.e. He / She will have to work with the supervisor/co-supervisor in the concerned department. No financial assistance/benefit/fellowship etc. will be given by University.

10. Vacant seats may increase or decrease depending on the availability of resources and/or administrative reasons. Reservation as per applicable State Govt. rules
