Afghanistan: The rhetoric of peace talks and the future of migration ‘crisis’
Abstract: This paper aims to situate the issue of migration and displacement within the current rhetoric about peace that is recently dominating the discourses on future of Afghanistan. The paper first will unpack a situational analysis on latest political developments in the country and its relationsand impact on the migration and displacement issues. This will be followed by presenting an analysis of internaldynamics and driversof migration and displacement. The paper, will then examine whether the global responses to the migration crisis are matching the local realities and factors that lead migration in the first place?
