Temporary shed structures may be prepared using Bamboo and straw/ dried twigs or branches to protect young plants and nurseries against fog/ frost/ snow in open field. In fruit crops and perennial
vegetables, apply organic mulches after earthing up and weeding to conserve residual soil moisture as well as to maintain the soil temperature. Light watering during morning hours is advised for the rabi crops (especially in vegetative stages) to avoid effects of frost/ fog on crops. Protect birds and animals from cold by hanging hessian cloth/ polythene around the walls of sheds and if required provide artificial heat source to attain warm condition in sheds.
