SPECIAL BULLETIN FOR UPCOMING HEAVY RAINFALL IN MIZORAM
Don’t prepare of lowland rice nursery in this week.
Provide drainage around the field of crops/vegetables/fruit at the earliest possible.
Stop normal agricultural operations like ploughing, sowing/transplanting, application of chemicals etc. at the time of rain occurrence.
Staking and propping shall be maintain properly of frenchbean and cowpea field.
Mature crop and fruit should be harvest as early as possible.
If flood occurs and sand is deposited in the crop field, try to remove sand at the earliest, replough and do re-sowing of crops.
Heavy wind affected broken and damaged branched of mango and mandarin may be pruned and applied with 1% Bordeaux paste in upcoming weeks.
Claim insurance if damaged crops are under agricultural/weather insurance cover.
Repair damaged dykes of fisheries ponds and take care so that fishes does not escape.
Avoid water logging of floor of the animal house.
