10) Dr. Padmanabhan is the President elect of Asian Academy of osseointegration.

11) Dr. Kalpana Balakrishnan, Department of Environmental Health Engineering has been nominated to serve as the Regional Editor for “Environmental Health Perspectives”, the official journal of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, NIH, USA.

12) Dr. Kalpana Balakrishnan, Department of Environmental Health Engineering served as member, Expert Panel for Food-borne disease burden Epidemiology Reference Group (FERG) and as Temporary Advisor, UNIDO for Global Energy Assessment Report Lead Authors meeting in Vienna, Austria in June 2009.

13) Department of Telemedicine is selected to execute the Pan-African E-Network programme of Government of India for African countries on Tele-Health and Tele-CME.

14) Prof. Sunil Shroff represented India at the International Forum to formulate guidelines on living kidney donor held at Amsterdam.

15) The first prize of the ‘Asian Interventional Cardiovascular Therapeutics Young Interventionist Award’ was presented to Dr. G. Sengottuvelu, Associate Professor, Department of Cardiology by Prof. Yean Leng Lim of the University of Melbourne in recognition of a challenging angioplasty procedure performed.

16) Sri Ramachandra University has been recognized as a Regional Training Center of the American Heart Association for Provider and Instructor courses in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support & Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

17) Sri Ramachandra University has been recognized as a training center and member of the College of Emergency Medicine (MCEM), UK

18) Dr. Kalpana Balakrishnan has been selected to serve in three international technical committees; two for the World Health Organization and one for the UN Global Energy Assessment Program.

19) Dr.J.S.N. Murthy was awarded Asia Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology (APSIC) Fellowship at 2nd AICT, New Delhi.

20) American Association for Respiratory Care and American Respiratory Care Foundation presented an International fellowship award in Respiratory Care at Las Vegas in Dec. 2006 to Prof. Vijayalakshmi Thanasekaraan, Department of Pulmonary Medicine.

21) The World Health Organisation has selected Dr. Kalpana Balakrishnan to serve as one of the lead authors for the 2005 Edition of The WHO Air Quality Guidelines to be presented in the United Nations World Health assembly in 2007.

22) Professor S. Arumugam, Professor and Head of the Department of Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine was awarded Fellow qua Surgeon title of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow on 1st June 2011.

Prof. S. Arumugam, Professor and head of the department of Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine was awarded Fellow qua Surgeon title of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow on 1st June 2011.

Prof.P.V.Vijayaraghavan, Professor & Head Dept. of Orthopaedics, was elected as Vice-President, Indian Orthopaedic Association in November, 2011.

Dr. T.V.Padmanabhan, Professor & Head, Dept. of Prosthodontics, Sri Ramachandra Dental College took over as the President of the Asian Academic of Prosthodontics (AAP). He is the first Indian to hold this prestigious post.

10) Dr. Krishna Seshadri, Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism was honored to deliver the B.N.Shah Oration (Endocrine Society of India) for the year 2009 at Udaipur in October 2009. He was also nominated as a member of the Editorial Board of “Clinical Update in Diabetes” a quarterly journal published by the Research Society for Study of Diabetes in India.

11) Dr. P. Sampath Kumar, Department of Forensic Medicine was elected as Vice President of the Indian Academy of Forensic Medicine.

12) Prof. N.Sanjeeva Reddy, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology was elected as Vice President of OGSSI in April 2009.

13) Dr. Sunil Shroff, Department of Urology was invited to deliver the Oration in connection with Post-Centenary Platinum Jubilee Celebration of Madras Medical College in November 2009.

14) Dr. T.V.Padmanabhan Head of the Department of Prosthodontics was elected as President of Indian Prosthodontics Society.

15) Mr. P.V.Ramachandran, Chairman, Nursing Education received the ‘National Florence Nightingale Award for Nursing Personnel 2009’ initiated by the Nursing Division of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare from the Honorable President of India in May 2009.

18) Dr. Prakash Boominathan, Ms. Sembagavalli M & Mr. Subramaniyan B, Department of Speech Language & Hearing Sciences received the ‘Muktesh Award’ for best paper in Language in the Indian Speech & Hearing Association Conference in Bangalore in January 2010.

19) Dr. Kalpana Balakrishnan, Head of the Department of Environmental Health Engineering received the ‘Outstanding Scientist in Public Health’ award from the Public Health Foundation of India.

20) Prof. S. Viswanathan, Head of the Department of Ophthalmology received the IIRSI Medal in recognition of his services rendered to Ophthalmology in September 2008 at Mumbai.

21) Prof. Vijayalakshmi Thanasekaran received the Indian Chest Society ‘ICS Oration award 2008’

at NAPCON ’08 held at Lucknow in November 08 for her contributions in the field of pulmonary medicine.

22) Prof. Roopa Nagarajan, Department of Speech Language & Hearing Sciences was nominated as the President of Indian Speech and Hearing Association for the year 2008.

23) Prof. Umamaheswara Reddy, Principal, Pharmacy College was honored as Fellow of Biotechnology and Pharmacy during the 2nd Annual convention of Association of Biotechnology and Pharmacy at Bangalore.

24) Dr. K. Selvakumar, Department of Neurosurgery was elected as a member of Telemedicine Task Force committee, Govt. of India for 2008-2009. Dr. Selvakumar continues to serve as a member in the Implementation Committee for Telemedicine, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India.

25) Prof. Roopa Nagarajan was the recipient of “Dr. Rathna Oration Award” at the 39th Indian Speech and Hearing Association Conference on 20th January 2007.

26) Prof. A G Dhandapani, Principal of the College of Physiotherapy received the award of Excellence during the International conference of Manual Therapists on 28.10.06 at New Delhi.

27) Dr.R.K.Bagadi, HOD, Paediatric Surgery was awarded Rajasthan Sree Award for best medical services to the society.

28) Dr.S.Arumugam received the ‘Appreciation Award’ by Committee for Golden Jubilee Conference of Indian Orthopaedic Association in the field of Arthroscopy at Mumbai, December 2005

29) Prof. P. Sampath Kumar was elected as Joint Secretary (IAFM) of the Governing Council of Indian Academy of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, and Vice-President of Tamil Nadu Medico Legal Society.

30) Prof.S.Thanikachalam has been appointed as the Member of the Governing body of the Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi (2003-2006).

31) Dr. Kalpana Balakrishnan has been nominated as a member of the Local Area Environment Committee to serve under the direction of the Supreme Court Monitoring Committee, Govt. of India.

32) Dr. Hannah R Vasanthi was awarded Young Scientist Fellowship under the SERC Scheme of Fast Tract Proposal for Young Scientists (DST, Govt. of India, New Delhi).

33) Dr.Asha Moorthy is the1st Women Cardiologist to get Fellow of Indian College of Cardiologist (FICC) 2005.

34) Prof.C.U.Velmurugendran has been awarded the Fellowship of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (India) - FAMS

5) D. Jagadeswaran, Tutor in Dialysis Technology was awarded the Medal of Honor for Teaching and Research by the National Foundation for Entrepreneurship development, Chennai in September 2010.

6) Prof. C. U. Velmurugendran was awarded the Life Time Achievement Award, Stanley Medical College, Chennai, 2010.

7) Prof. P.V. Ramachandran, Chairman Nursing Education and Prof. Dr. Rajeswari Vaidyanathan, Principal were awarded The Eminent Nursing Teacher Award by the Dean, Madras Medical College, Chennai on 27th February 2010.

8) Dr. S. Senthil Kumar, Department of Allied Health Sciences, won the Dr. M. M Cooper

Memorial Award for the Best Paper presented in the 32nd Annual Conference of Association of Anatomists, Tamil Nadu held in Karpaga Vinayaga Institute of Medical and Dental Sciences, Maduranthagam, September 2010.

9) Mr. Jagadeswaran, Tutor, received Medal of Honor for Teaching and Research on the eve of Teacher’s Day celebration at the National Foundation for Entrepreneurship Development on 5th September 2010

10) Prof. Melani Rajendran received the Dr. M.M.Cooper Memorial award and Dr.Arumugam Krishnamurti award from the Association of Anatomists of Tamil Nadu for the year 2005.

13) Dr.P. Soundararajan was awarded ‘Pondicherry Chief Minister – Rotary Excellence award’ for Tsunami Relief Camp conducted in Pondicherry.

14) Dr. S. Senthil Kumar, Department of Allied Health Sciences received Dr. M.M.Cooper Memorial award instituted by the Association of Anatomists of Tamil Nadu for the year 2009.

15) Ms. V.Supriya, Department of Clinical Nutrition Tutor, won the Gold Medal & Award for the Best Poster (Dialysis) instituted by the Indian Association of Nephrology Southern Chapter in ISNSC CON-2010 held in Puducherry in February 2010.

16) Prof. Jyotsna Murthy, Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery received the Dr.K.S.Sanjivi Award 2008 instituted by the Confederation of Indian Organization for Services and Advocacy and Udavum Ullangal, Chennai for her exceptional contribution in plastic surgery to the poor and needy.

Prof.P.Narendran Oration on “Vegetative state in Neurosurgery and the application of Telemedicine” in March, 2010 in Madras Medical College.

2) Dr. G. Moorthy, Assistant Professor won the Best Paper Award – ‘Laproscopic Management of Ovarian pathology in children’, CCPS Meet of Chennai City Pediatric Surgeons, Chennai in April 2010.

3) Dr. G. Moorthy, Assistant Professor won the Best Poster Award for ‘Long term results of Gastrocystoplasty’ at the World Congress of Pediatric Surgeons, New Delhi in October 2010.

4) Dr. Pratheeba, Medical officer secured the Best Paper Award for ‘Intestinal pseudo-obstruction’

presented the CCPS Meet – Chennai City Pediatric Surgeons, Chennai in September 2010.

5) “Predicting grade of prostate cancer using image analysis soft ware” - by Dr. Sandhya Sundaram won the best paper Award at the International conference “Trends in Information Sciences and Computing” 2010, Chennai.

6) S. Gopinath, Assistant Professor won the Best paper award for the paper entitled “A Factorial study on the Evaluation of Formulation Variables on the Dissolution Rate of Etoricoxib tablets”

in the Indian Congress of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences – 2010 and IPA Convention - 2010 at SRU in March-2010.

7) G. Kannan, Assistant Professor won the First prize for poster presentation at the Indo-American Pharmaceutical Regulatory symposium at SRU from 20th to 21st November 2010.

8) Dr. Venkatesh Babu Department of Conservative Dentistry was awarded the Best paper award in the national conference of Indian Society of Dental Research.

9) Ms. Savitha V.H, Dr. Prakash Boominathan and Ms Svetha V were awarded ‘Dr B.M.Abrol award for the best p

11) Dr.Hannah Rachel Vasanthi won the Best Paper Award for her paper “The Glucose Paradox of Cerebral Stroke: Nimodipine can be Neuroprotective?” presented in the Annual conference of the Indian Society of Atherosclerosis Research -16th and 17th December 2006 at Madras University, Chennai.

3) Dr. Premananth, PG Student (DTCD) won the Best Young Scientist Award Third Prize at NAPCON 2010, Jodhpur

4) Ms. Yoshitha, MBBS Student V Semester bagged the Best paper Award by South India Medico-Legal Association, Vijayawada on 19th September 2010.
