UINT-I: REVIEW OF SIGNALS AND SYSTEMS (5L)
Analysis of signals and systems, LTI systems, Fourier series representation of periodic signals, Fourier transform, Z-transforms, Sampling and aliasing.
UINT-II: THE DISCRETE FOURIER TRANSFORM (7L)
Discrete Fourier series and properties, Discrete Fourier transform (DFT) and properties, comparison between circular convolution and linear convolution, linear convolution from circular convolution.
UINT-III: THE FAST FOURIER TRANSFORM (7L)
Direct evaluation of the DFT, The fast Fourier transform, Decimation-in-time (DIT) algorithm, Decimation-in-frequency (DIF) algorithm, differences and similarities between DIT and DIF algorithms and inverse DFT (IDFT).
UINT-IV: FINITE IMPULSE RESPONSE (FIR) FILTERS (10L)
Linear phase FIR filters, frequency response of linear phase FIR filters and location of zeros, Design of FIR filters using windows, realization of FIR filters.
UINT-V: INFINITE IMPULSE RESPONSE (IIR) FILTERS (10L)
Frequency selective filters, design of digital filters from analog filters, design of lowpass, highpass, bandpass and band stop filters, design of IIR filters from analog filters, realization of digital filters.
UINT-VI: MULTIRATE SIGNAL PROCESSING (3L)
Down sampling, spectrum of down sampled signal, up sampling, spectrum of up sampled signal.
