Suggestions/Recommendations
•Promotion of Micro irrigation system in participatory manner at
Community Level/ FPO is feasible under those conditions where water source is common viz., canal/river water, farm ponds, water storage structure/check dam, treated sewage water, under pressurize conveyance system.
•Awareness of farmers and capacity building of officials
•Demand of cost effective water soluble fertilizer for fertigation and assets
for cleaning and flushing
•Assistance for Automation (Sensor, Mobile, timer based etc.) system in MI Scheme

• Skills improvement Programs of rural youth for maintenance of MI
system
• Non utilization of funds in SC/ST category-Instead of census data
landholding data
• Provision for use of MI in small area viz. backyard farming
• MI companies not providing maintenance after installation: states
should enforce maintenance by MI companies
• Cost norms for close spacing (1 mtr x 30cm) and 60cm x 40cm for
NER and Himalayan states
• First of its kind steps have been taken to bring Paddy crop under Micro Irrigation
