NIRMAN 2018 – REPORT

One Day National level workshop on “Achieving Green and Sustainable Environment” was held on 05.04.2018 organized by the Department of Civil & Structural Engineering at Adi Sankara Auditorium. The program was coordinated by Mrs. R.Sumathi, Asst.Prof. and Dr. K.Ambiga, Asst.Prof.

The program was started with prayer song and followed by lighting of Kuthu Vilakku. The function was presided over by Dr. S.K. Sekar, Chief Guest, Dean, School of Civil &

Chemical Engineering, VIT, Vellore, Prof. Dr. G. Srinivasu, Registrar, SCSVMV and Dr. N.Seshadiri Sekhar, HOD/ C&SE Department. Inaugural address was given by the Chief Guest and Presidential address was given by Registrar. The session was started after Tea break. The chief guest Prof. Dr. S.K.Sekar, presented the topic on Condition Assessment of Concrete Structures Using Non-Destructive Tests. Prof. Dr. E. Ravindranath, HOD, Department of Civil Engineering, SVCE, Sriperumpudur, Chennai, delivered his lecture on Sustainable Engineering Concepts. Prof. Dr. S.Virapan, Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Easwari Engineering College, Chennai, gave motivational talk for students in construction industry with sustainable environment. Mr. Anil Kumar, Research Director, Richardson and Cruddas Pvt. Ltd. delivered his lecture on Environmental Management including EIA and Environmental Acts. Vote of thanks was given by the Coordinator Mrs. R. Sumathi, Assistant Professor and the program was successfully completed with National Anthem.
