Suchitra Pradhan, the author, was born on 15th June 1971 in Khurda district, Orissa.
Having passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination under the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Orissa in the first division in 1989, she graduated in Sociology with a first class degree from Utkal Univeristy Orissa, India in the year 1992 and Post Graduation in 1994. On completion of her post graduation, she joined Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar as Project Officer. She joined the doctoral research programme in the department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Kharagpur in 2002. The author’s current research interest lies in the field of Medical Sociology and Gender issues. Presently she is working as a Social Consultant in Orissa Watershed Development Mission, India. She has to her credit some publications in journals and conferences. Lists of papers that have been published are given below:
