ORIENTATION AND INAUGRATION-(JUNE 27, 2012)
The NSS Unit of School of Information Technology(SIT) was inaugurated on 27th June 2012 by Dr. G.Yesuratnam, NSS Coordinator, JNTUH and Dr.M.Sreenivasa Rao, Director, SIT. It organized an Orientation Program at SIT seminar hall. The gathering was addressed by Dr. G.Yesuratnam, NSS Coordinator, JNTUH. He explained the vision, Mission and importance of NSS and also motivated the volunteers to contribute in the development and betterment of the society. The Volunteers of School of Information Technology(SIT) interacted with the guest. Sri, K.Suresh Babu, NSS Program Officer, School of Information Technology (SIT) has shared his experiences and tried to motivate the student for serving the society.
AWARENESS PROGRAM ON "UN CONFERENCE OF PARTIES(COP 11) ON BIODIVERSITY)" – (JUNE 29, 2012)
The NSS Unit of School of Information Technology (SIT) organized an awareness program on
"UN Conference of Parties(COP 11) on Biodiversity)" to the NSS volunteers in SIT Seminar hall.
The volunteers were addressed by Mr. Pasha, Project Director, National Green corps, Govt. of AP, Hyderabad. He explained the volunteers the importance of the conference and the role of NSS volunteers in it. He said that some the NSS volunteers will be selected for the conference for various volunteering responsibilities and they will be called "PRAKRITHI MITRAS". At the end of the program Sri, K.Suresh Babu, NSS Program Officer has given vote of thanks. Around 60 NSS volunteers came forward to act as PRAKRITHI MITRAS and they have been send for the selections.
COMMUNITY SERVICE–VISIT OF BHARATHI MEMORIAL FOUNDATION(JULY 4, 2012)
The NSS volunteers of School of Information Technology (SIT) has tried to get donations from students and staff of the university to serve the society. They collected an amount of Rs. 2500.
On July 4th , around12 NSS volunteers visited Bharathi Memorial Foundation(BMF), H.No:3-2- 37/1/A, SriNagar Colony, Old Ramanthapur, Hyderabad-500 013. Bharathi Memorial Foundation's aim is to provide shelter to destitute patients and abnormal children suffering from outcasted disorders and help them cure their ailments like cancer, leprosy, tuberculosis, mentally retarded, etc. Presently the total number of patients at BMF are 64 out of which 11 are children. The volunteers distributed the fruits to the patients and donated the money to the BMF.

BOOKS SPONSORED BY–SRIRAMAKRISHNA VIVEKANANDA SEVA SAMITHI (SRKVSS) – (JULY 16, 2012 – JULY 20, 2012)
SIT volunteers led the free distribution of 500 books entitled "Swami Vivekananda- His Call to the Nation" for the benefit of the 1st year students of SIT and JNTUHCEH and 800 books for the benefit of the participants of Tech.Fest event of ECE dept., JNTUHCEH in collaboration with the volunteers of VYJV, SRKVSS under its sponsorship.
VOTER AWARENESS PROGRAM (SEPTEMBER 6th, 2012)
The voting percentage of the General Parliamentary/Assembly elections in the country is decreasing. Most of the youth in the country are not showing interest in voting and electing their representative. So to improve the percentage of voting and to create awareness in the students, the NSS unit - School of Information Technology (SIT) conducted a VOTER AWARENESS PROGRAM in the institute on 06-09-2012 from 10.30am to 1.30pm. The NSS Volunteers presented a power point presentation on the alarming decreasing percentage of voting and stressed the need of creating general awareness about voting.
WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY–RALLY(SEPTEMBER 10TH, 2012)
As a part of NSS Unit, Dr K.ChandraSekhariah, Professor of SIT, and two NSS volunteers Naresh(M.Tech(CS)), Nagulu(M.Tech(CS)) have gone through a rally in view of World Suicide Prevention day. They started the rally at SIT, JNTUH and went through various parts of the city and tried to motivate the general public. They went to the OSMANIA UNIVERSITY and given the representation to the authorities and started the rally back to the SIT JNTUH.
TREE PLANTATION PROGRAM (SEPTEMBER 26th, 2012)
The National Service Scheme Unit (NSS) of School of Information Technology, JNTUH organized a Tree Plantation Programme in the institute premises on September 26, 2012 from 10:30 a.m.
NSS volunteers identified appropriate place for plantation of plants and prepared it for plantation. As a part of it the NSS volunteers have planted 120 trees in the campus. They also made the identification cards of the plants and NSS candidates also committed themselves to nourish and maintain the allocated plant. Around 50 NSS volunteers have taken part in this programme. Both the teaching staff and non-teaching staff also taken part in this programme.
"PRAKRITHI MITHRAS& – COP–II CONVENTION ON BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY(OCTOBER 01st – 19th, 2012)
COP–11(Conference of parties-11) is going to be held at Hyderabad International Convocation Center, HITEX, Madhapur, Hyderabad from 1st Oct to 19th oct. School of IT NSS volunteers K.Naresh(M.Tech.–CS), P Ashok kumar(M.Tech.–CS), M V srinivas(M.Tech.–CS), Durga
Dhansari(MCA) from SIT are been selected to be a part of cop–11. In the COP-II The NSS Volunteers are called as "PRAKRITHI MITHRAS". These PRAKRITHI MITHRAS will be handled various responsibilities in the COP–11 conference from 1st Oct to 19th oct.
Naresh and Ashok are volunteering and incharge of the accommodation to the Delegates, National level Teachers and Students coming from different States and Countries. They are also involved in organising "Prakrithi Mitra Model United Nation" council for National level teachers and school Students. The students are selected for "Prakriti mitra model united Nation" council for college students which is a side event of COP-11, in which Naresh and Ashok represented Rwanda and Afghanistan countries respectively. Srinivas and Durga dhansari are selected to represent the Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim state biodiversity in exhibition stalls from 1st to 19th oct. Srinivas also selected as a local authority officer to organise "Cities for life" which is a high level segment of cop-11 where only ministers and mayors of the countries are participating to discuss the biodiversity of cities.
COMPUTER AWARENESS PROGRAM:GHATKESAR MAHILA MANDAL SAMKYA(OCTOBER 4th, 2012)
The NSS Unit of SIT has conducted a one day workshop Computer Awareness Program for the women of Ghatkesar Mahila mandali Samkya, Ghatkesar on 04-10-2012 at Ghatkesar Ghatkesar Mahila mandali Samkya building. The program is being conduct in collaboration with SERP. The program was conducted by the NSS program officer sri K.Suresh Babu along with three NSS volunteers namely Shaffi Shaik(11031D6416), Soumya M(11031D6418), Amarnath A(11031D6404. The SERP Director(IT), Sri Jacob Victor was also joined hands with them to
conduct the program.
The program was followed like this
The NSS team arrived at the venue at 9.00am and made arrangements for the program.
At 9.30am,the program started and the total women participants were 55.
The program started with a prayer and introduction of the members.
At 10.00am, first session started where the NSS members tried to give an overview of the Computer and hardware to the women.
The session continued till 11.30am.There was a tea break for 10min after this session.
At 11.40am, second session started where we have given an exposure various general applications which are used in computers like, MS-Paint, MS-word, MS-Powerpoint, MS- Excel, etc.
The session continued till 1.30pm.There was a lunch break for 45min after this session.
The next session started at 2.15pm where we tried to give a hands-on-experience to the women.
The participants felt very happy with the session as they got confidence of doing something the computers.
They have been given small exercises to perform.
This session continued till 5.00pm.
TRAFFIC AWARENESS PROGRAM (OCTOBER 16th, 2012)
The National Service Scheme Unit (NSS) of School of Information Technology, JNTUH organized TRAFFIC AWARENWESS PROGRAM on 16th October, 2012 from 9.30am to 1.00pm at JNTUH circle. The program has been started by Dr. G.Yesuratnam, NSS Coordinbator, JNTUH, Dr.M.Sreenivasa Rao, Director, SIT and Sri.K.Suresh Babu, NSS Program Officer, School of Information Technology(SIT) .27 NSS volunteers participated in this program. The NSS volunteers dislayed the placards related to the TRAFFIC RULES & REGULATIONS and tried the give awareness to the common man about it.
NSS VOLUNTEERS VISIT TO SIVANANDA REHABILATION HOME FOR LEPROSY PATIENTS & HIV COMMUNITY CARE CENTER – DONATION (OCTOBER 17TH, 2012)
The NSS volunteers of School of Information Technology (SIT) has tried to get donations from students and staff of the university to serve the society. They collected an amount of Rs. 4500.
On October 17th, around35 NSS volunteers visited Sivananda Rehabilation Home for LEPROSY patients & HIV Community Care Center, kukatpally, Hyderabad. The volunteers donated 100Kgs of Rice and distributed 500 bananas to the patients. The Volunteers of NSS visited Sivananda Rehabilation Home for LEPROSY patients & HIV Community Care Center, kukatpally, Hyderabad and spend the whole day there. They had lunch with the patients and HIV Positive children and interacted with them. Various competitions and games were conducted and prizes were distributed. It was a wonderful experience. The volunteers decided that they wouldl visit them more often and celebrate the occasions like birthdays and Christmas with the children there.
NSS Youth DAY/Week Celebrations (12 -01-2013)
On the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, NSS unit of SIT has conducted NSS youth day celebrations. Various events like essay wiritng, rangoli, drawing, singing, dancing, elcution,etc events were conducted by NSS volunteers to the students.
Rally: INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING (26-06-2013)
Ten NSS volunteers of School of IT, JNTUH had participated in the rally on International Day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking” on 26-06-2013. The rally was held from RTC X roads to Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad.
Workshop on “Career Opportunities For Engineers in Indian Air Force” on (11th July 2013)
The NSS JNTUH has organized a workshop on “Career Opportunities For Engineers in Indian Air Force” on 11th July 2013 at JN Auditorium JNTUH.
Around 100 volunteers of SIT unit participated in the workshop.
Linking of Adhaar Card Number to the Banks and Gas Agencies (15th July 2013 to 27th July 2013)
The NSS Volunteers of School of IT, JNTUH has actively participated in the India’s biggest project AADHAAR CARd for 2 weeks i.e., from 15th July 2013 to 27th July 2013 . Around 50 volunteers have participated in this event.
In this Project, the officials of Gas Agencies and R.R District Administration came to JNTUH. They provided the Database Details of 5 Districts which includes the details like Gas Agency Number ,Aadhar Card Number, Bank Account Numbers.
The officials Distributed the database details to various students ,so they can call each and every customer and make sure that their Aadhar card must belinked with their own Bank A/C and Gas Aadhar card to get their subsidy. As part of this, the volunteers have made their best effort to link all the Gas customers Adhaar card numbers to the banks.
Mega Blood Donation Camp (27-09-2013)
October 1st is National Voluntary Blood Donation Day which is celebrated all over the country to create awareness of safe blood, which is possible only by regular voluntary blood donation.The significance of observance of a day like the National Voluntary Blood Donation day is to mobilize voluntary blood donors by motivating the potential donors to motivate for the cause of the society.On this occasion, NSS cell of JNTUH, its constituent NSS units, at Institute of Science and Technology, School of Information Technology, and College of Engineering, Hyderabad, is organizing a Mega Blood Donation Camp on 27th September, Friday, 2013.
World Suicide Prevention Day/Week(10 September 2013 – 16 September 2013)
The NSS volunteers have conducted some events on the eve of world suicide prevention day/week. They took a cycle expididation from JNTUH campus to Balanagar to give awareness among the citizens of Hyderabad about Suicide prevention.

Information Security Awareness Workshop on (9th October 2013)
The NSS Unit of SIT has conducted a one day workshop Information Security Awareness Workshop in collaboration with CDAC Hyderabad. Around 100 volunteers had participated in the workshop.
Computer Awareness program for women(Dwarka mahila sangam) (5th November 2013)
The NSS Unit of SIT has conducted a one day workshop computer awareness for women at Chilkur Village & Mandal, Ranga Reddy on 5th November 2013 for the dwakra mahila sangam chilkur mandal in cooperation with department of Society for Elimination of rural proverty(SERP) government of Andhra Pradesh. 15 volunteers had taken part in providing training to the women.
NSS Youth Festival January 2014(27-01-2014)
The NSS JNTUH has conducted different competitions like easy writing, elocution, rangoli, singing, dancing, etc. as part of NSS youth festival in the month of January 2014. Many of the NSS volunteers of SIT has got prizes.
Launch of National Youth Policy-2014 (NYP-2014) & Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan (RGKA) (21st February 2014) & Guest Lecture
NSS volunteers participated in the launch of National Youth Policy-2014 (NYP- 2014) & Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan (RGKA) on 21st February 2014 at JNauditorium JNTUH.For the benefit of the students guest lecturers have been arranged. At the end the students and staff participated in the rally.

Web Casting of General Elections – 2014(Parliament and Assembly) (30-04-2014) The NSS volunteers of School of IT, JNTUH has actively participated in web casting the Country’s general elections both for Parliament and State Assembly held on 30th April 2014. They have web casted for Kukatpally assembly and Malkajigiri Parliamentary constitutencies. 75 NSS volunteers had taken part in it.
Mega Blood Donation Camp (14-08-2014)
On the eve of 68th Independence Day, the NSS units of School of IT, IST and CEH JNTUH organized a BLOOD DONATION CAMP at SIT campus on 14th August 2014.The NSS volunteers had tried their level best to create awareness of safe blood in the students and staff, which is possible only by regular voluntary blood donation. Blood donation camp is organized to support the Thalassemia Society Hyderabad. The blood donation camp is inaugurated by Dr.A.Govardhan, Director SIT, Dr.N.Yaddaiah, Principal CEH JNTUH. The program is coordinated by Sri.K. Suresh Babu NSS PO SIT, Dr.Vijayalakshmi NSS PO IST and Sri. K. Prasanna NSS PO CEH JNTUH. Around 100 volunteers of NSS had donated the blood.
Telangana Government’s – SAMAGRAHA KUTUMBA SURVEY (SKS) – 2014(19-08-2014) Samagra Kutumba Survey 2014 is being conducted on 19 August 2014 by the government of Telangana. It is aimed at creating a database of all Households in Telangana State.It will help to plan for a Bangaru Telangana and ensure proper services and targeting benefits. For this purpose 40 NSS volunteers participated in SKS-2014 survey as Enumerators and Associate Enumerators for three day. On 17-08-2014 and 18- 08-2014 they had a pre survey and 19-08-2014 they had done the actual survey.
Organ Donation Pledge (13-09-2014): The NSS volunteers of SIT, JNTUH has taken part in the oath on ORGAN DONATION PLEDGE held at shilpa kala vedika, Hi-Tech city, Hyderabad organized by Yashodha Hospitals. Cine Hero Nagarjuna was the chief Guest for the function. Around 14 NSS volunteers have given the signed agreement of organ donations to the organizers.
Data Processing of Telangana Government’s – SAMAGRAHA KUTUMBA SURVEY (SKS) – 2014(11-09-2014 to 13-09-2014)
Samagra Kutumba Survey 2014 is being conducted on 19 August 2014 by the government of Telangana. It is aimed at creating a database of all Households in Telangana State.It will help to plan for a Bangaru Telangana and ensure proper services and targeting benefits. The data processing of the SKS households is done at School of
IT, JNTUH computer labs by the NSS volunteers for 3 days. 140 NSS volunteers participated in it.
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas – National Unity Day – Birth Anniversary of Late Sardar Vallabhai Patel -31-10-2014 – The Government of India has decided to observer the birth anniversary of late sardar Vallabhai Patel as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas – National Unity Day on 31st October, 2014. On this eve, essay writing competition is organized for the students of SIT. A pledge taking ceremony is organized at SIT seminar hall.
Certificates has been given to the winners by Dr.A.Govardhan, Director SIT and K.Suresh Babu, NSS Program Officer.
National Education Day – Birth Anniversary of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad- 11-11- 2014- Government of India has declared 11th November, the birth anniversary of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad as National Education Day. In connection with the program, NSS unit has conducted competitions like essay writing, elocution, debates, etc. Around 45 NSS volunteers participated in the event. Certificates and prizes are distributed to the winners.
Good Governance Day – Birthday of Shri Atal Bihari- 23-12-2015- As per the instructions of AICTE, New Delhi, the Birthday of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former prime minister of india will be observed as GOOD GOVERNANCE DAY . All AICTE approved institutions are hereby informed that to celebrate this by organizing events related to use of technology and innovation in promoting good governance .In view of this, NSS unit of SIT has conducted a competition on Oratory skills(Bhaashan Shailee) on 24-12- 2014 at 11.00am in SIT Seminar Hall.

On the occasion of Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, NSS unit of SIT has conducted NSS National youth day celebrations on Monday, 12-01-2015 from 9.00AM to 5.00PM. Prof. Nimma Naik, (University NSS Program Coordinator), Chief Guest for the celebrations, Prof.M.Sreenivasa Rao, Professor of SIT, Dr.K.Suresh Babu, NSS Program Officer, SIT, had started the events. The dignitaries garlanded the Swami Vivekananda’s portrait. Prof.K.Chandra Sekharaiah, Professor of SIT has elaborated and explained the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and Nationality to the NSS volunteers.
Prof. G.Venkatarami Reddy, Prof.M.Arathi, lectures Sri. Balakrishna, Sri.Surendar Reddy, Smt. Sarika were also present at the function. NSS Volunteers Satish, shekhar, suresh, Asha Rani, Spandana, Keerthana, sharanya of M.Tech. has organized various events.
Various events like essay writing, rangoli, drawing, singing, dancing, elocution,etc events were conducted by NSS volunteers to the students. Certificates, prizes and gifts were awarded to the winners. Dr.K.Suresh Babu, NSS Program Officer, SIT JNTUH coordinated all the events.
National Voters Day – 25-01-2015 –NSS Volunteers from our NSS unit deputed for the rally on 25-01-2015 from Secretariat Hyderabad to Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderabad on account of National Voters Day on 25-01-2014.
͞HARITHA HARAM͟ - Tree plantation – (13-07-2015)
HARITHA HARAM Rally(JNTUH – HITECH City Road) :
The TELANGANA State Government has given the programme of HARITHA HARAM in the month of July 2015 to all Universities of the state. Keeping in view of the above said programme, the state NSS cell has given a action plan to all the NSS programmme coordinators for TREE PLANTATION . In this context, NSS Unit of SIT is organized the ͞ HARITHA HARAM ͟ i.e., Tree plantation in the campus followed by a RALLY to give awareness to the public on 13-07-2015 at 10.00am.
The rally started from JNTUH campus towards Hitech city road and ended at
JNTUH staff quarters. The Director SIT, Vice-Pricipal, NSS Po, all other staff and
students participated in the rally.
