• The radio news writing should be conversational. Writing for radio is different for print media. First you have less space and time to present news information. Therefore, you must prioritize and summarize the information carefully. Among the entire spoken

word format on radio, news is the most popular. News bulletin and news programmes are broadcast every hour by radio stations. In India, only All India Radio is allowed to broadcast news. Duration of news bulletin vary from 5 minutes to 30 minutes. The longer news bulletins have interviews, reviews and comments from experts.

• The writing style should be conversational. Write the way to talk

• Each sentence should be brief and contain only one idea. We do not always talk in long sentences.

• Be simple and direct
