7 SOCIO CULTURAL PROFILE AND INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE
OF THE MONPA TRIBE OF TAWANG, ARUNACHAL PRADESH
AA field based research project entitled ‘Socio Cultural Profile and Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Monpa Tribe of Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh’ had been carried out by AITS in collaboration with Defence Institute of Psychological Research, DRDO, New Delhi during the year 2016-2018. The main aim of this project is to carryout extensive fieldwork in different regions of Tawang in order to document the expressive traditions such as dance, music, myths, legends, songs, rituals, mask making, papermaking, wood crafts, games and sports, customs and practices along with the socio cultural profile of Monpas and analyze the functioning of those in the particular socio cultural context. The project have been successfully completed and submitted to report to DIPR, New Delhi.
