A Technical Talk on the topic “Dynamic Pumps – An Industrial Overview” was planned for the first year mechanical and civil engineering students on 25.02.2022 from 10.30 AM onwards. The Event was organized by Standards Club, JIT in association with Bureau of Indian Standards, Coimbatore Division at the Seminar Hall. Mr. D. Akil, Scientist – B, Bureau of Indian Standards and Mr. Arun Kumar, Senior Design Engineer, Deccan Pumps were invited as a resource person for the session. The Session was started with a welcome address delivered by Dr. N. Srinivasan, Standards Club, In-charge. Mr. Scientist – B, Bureau of Indian Standards gave an overview about the topic on Pumps. The Basic Principle, function and classification of pumps were elaborated to the participants. Mr. Arun Kumar, Senior Design Engineer, Deccan Pumps shared the presentation about the Submersible Pumps – Types and advantages over the different pumps, Important parts, suitable materials, and methods of manufacturing & assembly were clearly expressed to the participants. The Guest further emphasizes on standards, how standards play a key role in the production process and how it can be got it through internet. The Participants clarified their doubts during the session, and they felt this session is an informative and trigged the aspiration in the technical field. The session was finally ended with the vote of thanks.
Outcomes Students can upgrade the knowledge in the field of engineering and with the real time industrial scenario.
