ASSAM UNIVERSITY, SILCHAR LAUNCHING OF THE ‘FIT INDIA MOVEMENT’

The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India would be launching a nation-wide ‘Fit India
Movement’ on Thursday, the 29th August 2019 from Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. The aim of the movement is to adopt a healthy lifestyle to take the nation forward
on the path of fitness and wellness. Fitness being the key for a joyful and healthy life, there is a great need to sensitize the citizens about this.
As a part of the movement, the Assam University, Silchar is also planning to carry out the following activities to promote the ‘Fit India Movement’. In this regard, all the members of the Assam University fraternity are requested to attend and actively participate in the following activities:
7.30 am: Gathering at the University Main Gate
7.40 am: Walkathlon from the University Main Gate to Amul Point and back
which would be flaged off by Prof Dilip Chandra Nath, Honb’le Vice Chancellor 8.45 am: Assembly at Hemanga Biswas Sabha Kakshya near VC Secretariat
- to view the live telecast on Doordarshan of the Launch of the ‘Fit India Movement’ by the Hon’ble Prime Minister
- to take the ‘Fitness Pledge’ which would be administered by the Hon’ble Prime Minister
