Director's Message

Greetings from University Industry Interaction Centre, JNTUH!!

UIIC is committed to enhance the employability and develop the skill set through University Industry Interaction and continuous training. Now a day, competition is getting tougher day by day and get into the best career path is quite challenging. Success is more likely when students make decisions about what they are to learn in a wellinformed manner. UIIC, JNTUH focuses in imparting training to the students for taking up career in their chosen field. The University offers soft skills training, remedial coaching, language lab, bridge courses, personal counselingand provides necessary awareness, knowledge and skill required for their career.

International Conference, 'Meet the Achiever' programs and workshops have been organized this year. UIIC also aims to encourage the students for general reading, general observation and thinking power for reasoning and courage for facing various examinations. Institute organizes workshops on Aptitude and Reasoning for all students.

About UIIC

The Economic Development of a country primarily depends on the synchronized efforts of both the Industry and the University because the Industry drives the Economic Development and the University fuels it. In order to facilitate such synchronized efforts of Industry and the University, JNTUH has instituted a dedicated dais called University Industry Interaction Centre (UIIC) in the year, 2009. JNTU Hyderabad has been a pioneer in promoting industry-academia interaction and the scope of the activities has been steadily growing. JNTUH-UIIC strives to systematize and catalyse the various joint activities between the Industry and the University. Industry interactions relating to Engineering and Technology, Basic and Applied Sciences, Pharmacy and Management come under University Industry Interaction Centre. The main focus of UIIC is to bridge the gap between Institute & Industry. UIIC conducts several training programs to improve the job-readiness of the students and increase their employability. This directorate carries forward the interaction of university with the industrial bodies of Public, Private and Government sector organizations and also handles campus placement activities for all constituent units and colleges.

Strive to excel as the best interaction centre in the University system by promoting collaboration between the University and the Industry for imparting quality education and employability skills.

Mission

Our mission is to act as a catalyst for promoting collaboration amongst academicians, scientists, and industrialists to achieve competitiveness in developing the technical man-power for socio-economic development under the present scenario of global competition and challenges.

UIIC Structure

Objectives:

· To help the Industry to hire the right talent from its students' community at the right time.

· To facilitate the students' internships, academic projects, training programs and placements to the students by the Industries and other employers.

· To facilitate the Training, Research and Consultancy projects by the Industries to the faculty of JNTUH.

· To organise industry collaborative programs as seminars, workshops, industry visits etc. for the Students and Faculty.

Functions /Responsibilities of the UIIC:

Ø Industry Collaborative Activities to the students & faculty Ø Career Guidance & Training to the students

Ø Placements to the students Facilities available in UIIC, JNTUH

University Industry Interaction Centre has a computer lab with 30 systems and MATLAB Software to conduct industry oriented training programs. UIIC also has a Conference room to facilitate meetings and discussion with industry experts and HRs.

Activities organized by UIIC, JNTUH:

University Industry Interaction Centre has organized International Conference Seminars, 'Meet the Achiever' Programs, Workshops, Job Fairs and Training Programs in the endeavour of promoting employability skills in students of JNTUH.

International Conference on Innovations in Engineering and Technology (ICIET - 2022) from 15 to 17 September 2022.

The University Industry Interaction Centre (UIIC), JNTUH, Hyderabad in association with all the Engineering branches, viz., Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering and Chemical Engineering is organizing an International Conference on Innovations in Engineering and Technology (ICIET - 2022) as a part of Golden Jubilee celebrations of JNTU Hyderabad from 15th to 17th September 2022.

ICIET-2022 consists of Pre-Conference Tutorials, Plenary Lectures, Keynote Speeches, Panel Discussion and Oral Presentations. More than 800 papers were received from all over India and abroad. After peer review, 354 papers were accepted for oral presentation. The selected papers are arranged into number of tracks under seven streams of Engineering, according to the technical contents of the paper. The oral presentations are overseen by 125 Session Chairs who are experts in the topics of presentations. International keynote speakers from several countries, i.e., USA, Taiwan, Australia, Sweden, Denmark, Malaysia, Singapore and UAE along with ten national keynote speakers from premier institutes of India.

Industry Oriented Training Programs

JNTUH and Blackbucks Engineers Pvt. Ltd. entered a MoU, to establish Centre of Excellence for Future Technologies (CEFT). As part CEFT activities, UIIC and Blackbucks has come forward to introduce three months and six months industry-oriented training programs in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Data Science, Full Stack development and Cyber Security.

Job Fairs

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad has organized a Mega Job Fair on 25 and 26 February 2023 with the HR Co. and Lasya Infotech. 268 companies from Core, IT, Pharma and other sectors have participated in this Job Fair with 20000 plus openings for the candidates with UG, PG, Diploma, Inter and SSC qualification. More than 80,000 candidates have registered to this Job Fair in online. Approximately 10000 job offers were rolled out for different job profiles and 15000 candidates have been shortlisted for further process of interviews.

MoU with Blackbucks Engineers Pvt. Ltd.

For creating and honing employability skills for engineering students, the University has signed an MoU with Blackbucks Engineers Pvt. Ltd. to establishing Center for Excellence in Future Technologies (CEFT) on 31st October 2022. Centre of Excellence in Future Technologies (CEFT) has been initiated by the University to provide industry oriented training in Machine Learning, Data Science, Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT).

Telangana Got Tech Talent (TGTT) Hackathon onTraffic Control and Management.

This Hackathon was officially launched by Prof. Katta Narasimha Reddy, Vice Chancellor on 31st October 2022. Sri D.V. Srinivasa Rao, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Cyberabad, Dr K Venkata Ramana, Deputy Transport Commissioner, Nizamabad, Sri B C Mouli, CEO, MaqAI, Dr. K.Laxman Rao, Senior Professor of Transport Engineering, JNTUH UCEST participated as jury members and evaluated the prototype models presented by the students. For this hackathon, a total 589 teams with 2046 students have registered from 90 different colleges across the country. In Round 1, of the selection process 71 teams were selected. In Round 2, 45 teams were selected. In Round 3, 13 teams from 10 different colleges are selected for the Final Round. This hackathon was scrutinized scrupulously in each round. First prize worth Rs. 25,000/- (Rupees twenty five thousand only) goes to BVRIT Hyderabad College of Engineering for Women, Second Prize worth Rs. 15,000/- (Rupees fifteen thousand only) goes to CMR College of Engineering and Technology Third Prize worth Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only) goes to G Narayanamma Institute of Technology for women. All the prize winners will be offered with internships in the areas of Machine Learning.

HR Recruiters Meet

University Industry Interaction Center, JNTUH and Blackbucks Engineers Pvt. Ltd. jointly organized HR Recruiters Meet on 10 February 2023. Panel Discussion has been organized on th 'Role of Industry and University :: Gaps in Fresher's Skill Set and Industry Readiness for Hiring'. Prof. A. Govardan, Rector of JNTUH, Hyderabad, Prof. Manzoor Hussian, Registrar of JNTUH participated in the panel discussion along with Mr. Kiran K, CEO, ekincare, Hyderabad, JNTUH, Mr. Upendra P, Delivery Head, Kyndryl, Hyderabad, Ms. Jayati P, Head HR, Keka, Hyderabad, Ms. Sreeja P, Head HR, Itsacheckmate, Hyderabad. Mr. Emanuel G, Sr. Resource Development Manager, Epam Systems, Hyderabad acted as the moderator for the panel discussion. HRs from 54 organizations has participated in this meet.

'Meet the Achiever' Programs

A series of programs under “MEET THE ACHIEVER” title are being organized to facilitate students to meet and interact with the achievers. Achievers in different fields are being invited to address our students. These programs are recorded and placed on the JNTUH website. These motivational and inspirational speeches are helpful to ignite and invigorate young minds to aim high in their careers.

1. Conducted a program “MEET THE ACHIEVER” on 11-02-2023 at 3:00 p.m. in Golden Jubilee Conference Hall, JNTUH. Sri B. Venkatesham, I.A.S., Principal Secretary to Government, BC Welfare, Govt. of Telangana is the invitee for this program.

2. Conducted a program “MEET THE ACHIEVER” on 04-03-2023 at 2:45 p.m. in Golden Jubilee Conference Hall, JNTUH. Dr. K. I. Varaprasad Reddy, Founder and Chairman of Shantha Biotechnics Ltd., and Sri Nagendra Kumar Dadi, IPS, Rtd. IGP (JNTU Alumni) are the invitees for this program

3. Conducted a program on “MEET THE ACHIEVER” on 15-04-2023 at 10:30 a.m. in Golden Jubilee Conference Hall, JNTUH. Sri Ramesh Vemuganti, President, Hyderabad Management Association (International Trainer & Employee Motivator) is the invitee for this program.

4. Conducted a program on “MEET THE ACHIEVER” on 06-05-2023 at 10:30 a.m. in Golden Jubilee Conference Hall, JNTUH. Dr. G. Sateesh Reddy, Scientific Advisor to Rakshamantri, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India and Dr. G. L. Samuel, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Madras are the invitees for this program.

Placement Activities:

During the academic year 2022-23, about 630 students have been selected for paid internships in various companies viz., Accenture, Amazon, TCS, Stellantis, Cognizant etc. out of which 405 are from JNTUH UCEH and remaining are from other JNTUH University Colleges of Engineering. Till date, in on-campus placements, the number of students placed during this academic year from the University is about 519 in 76 various companies viz., Wipro, Quantium Analytics, Torrent Gas, Prodapt, TCS, IBM,Infosys etc. out of which the number of students selected from JNTUH UCEH are 354, 57 from JNTUH UCEJ, 78 from JNTUH UCES and 30 students from JNTUH UCEM.
