CONCEPT FOR RURAL WOMEN KNOWLEDGE FOR HOME SCIENCE TECHNOLOGIES Dr. Anju Sonkar

Assistant Professor - Home Science, Government Girls PG College, Adalhat, Mirzapur Abstract - Information on the provincial ladies assumes a crucial part in reception of home science advances. Having more information creates positive changes in the reasoning system of person. Keeping this in view, a test was created to quantify the information on rustic ladies about chose seven home science innovations viz., Value added results of millets, Nutrition nursery, Fruits and vegetables conservation, Tailoring and Embroidery, Vermi treating the soil, Seed pack and Backyard poultry. Information was gathered during October to December, 2014 by private meeting strategy the respondents to build an information test about home science innovations. A conditional rundown of 65 things was drafted fit to the area of study. 60 rustic ladies were chosen for the review that has gone through preparing on chosen Home Science advances. Thing trouble list, Discrimination file and Point bi-sequential relationship were worked out. At last, 27 things were chosen to gauge information on the country ladies. The unwavering quality coefficient (rtt=0.846) got shown that the inner consistency of the information test created for the review was exceptionally high.

1 INTRODUCTION

Information assumes a significant part in rustic ladies life for accomplishing their goals. Sprout et al. (1956) considered information as "that way of behaving and test circumstances which underscores the recollecting, either by acknowledgment or review of thoughts, material or peculiarities". Thus, to take an interest and reception of various advancements one ought to comprehend the data completely and could ready to remember at the hour of execution. ANGRAU is scattering many home science advancements through KVKs.

This review was led as a piece of Ph.D proposal to test the information level of prepared rustic ladies in chose Home Science innovations. With the end goal of this review, 'Information' was operationalised as "recollecting or reviewing of data from provincial ladies about the chose advances of Home science which they have advanced by different augmentation techniques". For estimating the information level, an information test was developed and normalized with assistance of the accompanying procedures with a target to find out information on country ladies on chose Home Science innovations.

2 MATERIAL AND METHODS

An information test was created to gauge information on rustic ladies on Value added results of millets, Nutrition nursery, Fruits and vegetables

safeguarding, Tailoring and Embroidery, Vermi fertilizing the soil, Seed sack and Backyard poultry. Information was gathered during October to December, 2014.

3 RESULTS AND DISCUSSION 3.1 Collection of items

At first a thing pool of Knowledge test was gathered zeroing in on different parts of chosen advances of Home Science. Master in the field of Home Science research was counseled to gather the things. At last, a pool of things for all the seven chose Home science innovations was ready.

3.2 Framing of test items

The information test things part contained 65 inquiries including shut finished questions and genuine inquiries addressing chosen Home Science Technologies - Value added results of millets, Nutrition nursery, Fruits and vegetables safeguarding, Tailoring and Embroidery, Vermi fertilizing the soil, Seed pack and Backyard poultry.

3.3 Selection of Items for Item Analysis The standards adhered to for choice of things was-they ought to show the contrast between prepared or very much educated provincial ladies and inadequately educated country ladies for example they ought to have a trouble to reply; they ought to cover every one of the necessary regions to arrive at the

2 assumptions for the specialist to satisfy every one of the targets; things ought to be more receptive to think and answer as opposed to retention of the respondents.

Keeping above conditions and rules, 65 test things chose for information test were pre - tried by controlling it to 60 respondents.

3.4 Item Analysis

The thing examination was completed as far as three files that are thing trouble list, thing separation record and point bi- sequential relationship. The list of thing segregation gives data on how well a thing separates in understanding that is whether a thing truly separates a well informed respondent from an ineffectively educated respondent. Though, thing trouble file shows the degree to which a thing was troublesome. The point bi- sequential connection gave data on how well thing measures or segregates in concurrence with the remainder of the test. Every one of the 65 things were controlled to every one of the respondents. The scoring design was '1'for each right response and '0' for each inaccurate response. In the wake of registering the absolute scores of every one of the 60 respondents on 65 things, and they were organized in diving request.

Then, at that point, the respondents were separated into six equivalent gatherings of 10 individuals in each gathering and were named as G1, G2, G3, G4, G5 and G6.

With the end goal of thing investigation, the center two gatherings G3 and G4 were disposed of keeping just four outrageous gatherings with high and low scores.

(Blossom et al., 1956).

3.5 Item Difficulty Index (P)

The record of trouble was worked out as the level of the respondents noting a thing accurately. The supposition of the thing measurement of trouble record was that the trouble is straightly connected with the level of respondent's information about chose Home Science Technologies.

The things with 'p' values going from 20 to 80 were considered for the last choice of the information test battery.

where, P = difficulty index,

NC = number of respondents answering correctly, and

N = total number of respondents

3.6 Item Discrimination Index (E 1/3) The Item Discrimination Index is indicated by “E 1/3”. It indicates the level of discrimination between well informed and poorly informed respondents, was computed using the given formula.

Where,

S1, S2, S5 and S6 are the frequencies of correct answers in the groups G1, G2, G5and G6, respectively.

„N‟ is the total number of respondents of the sample selected for the item analysis i.e. 60.

The discrimination index varies from 0 to1. The items with discrimination index range from 0.20 to 0.80 were selected for the final test.

3.7 Point bi-serial correlation (r pbis) The primary point of computing point bi- sequential connection was to resolve the inside consistency of the thing for example the relationship of the complete score to a dichotomized reply to some random thing. As it were, the legitimacy force of the thing was processed by the connection of the singular thing of primer information test determined by utilizing the recipe recommended by Garret (1966).

rp b is=Point biserial correlation.

Mp = Means of the total scores of the respondent who answered the item correctly.

Mq = Mean of the total scores of the respondents who answered the item incorrectly.

3 σ = standard deviation of the entire sample (60 respondents)

p = Proportion of the respondents giving correct answer to the item.

q = Proportion of the respondents giving incorrect answer to the item or

q= 1-p

x= Total score of the respondent for all items

y= Response of the individual for the item i.e. (Correct -1; Incorrect -0)

Items having significant point bi-serial correlation either at 1 per cent (or) 5 per cent level was selected for the final test of the knowledge.

3.8 Representativeness of the Test Care was taken to see that the test things chose at long last covered the whole universe or respondent's information on Value added results of millets, Nutrition nursery, Fruits and vegetables conservation, Tailoring and Embroidery, Vermi treating the soil, Seed pack and Backyard poultry.

4 RELIABILITY OF THE TEST 4.1 Test – Re-test method

The test was regulated two times to 60 respondents who knew about seven Home Science advancements independently with a time period days. The two arrangements of information score got by the country

ladies were related. The connection coefficient (0.846) was profoundly huge showing a serious level of constancy of the instrument for estimating information on the provincial ladies.

4.2 Validity of the test

The legitimacy of the test things was tried by the technique for point bi-sequential connection (rpbis). The things with exceptionally critical connection coefficients either at 1% (or) at 5% level showed the legitimacy of the things of information test intended to quantify the information on the provincial ladies on chose seven Home Science Technologies 4.3 Content validity

The substance legitimacy of information test was gotten from a not insignificant rundown of test things addressing the entire universe of most recent techniques for chose seven home science innovations were gathered from different sources as examined before. It was accepted that the score got by controlling the information trial of this study estimates what was expected to quantify. In this manner, the information test created in the review estimates the information on provincial ladies as it showed a more prominent level of unwavering quality and legitimacy. Out of 65 things, 27 things were at last chosen in view of 1. Things with trouble level files going from 20 to 80; 2. Things with segregation records going from 0.20 to 0.80; 3. Things having critical point bi-sequential connection either at 1% or 5% level. The things are introduced in Table 1
