Abstract— As industrialization and urbanization is increasing at a tremendous rate which may lead to fire accident in public places leading to huge damage to lives and destruction of properties. Thus, fire and smoke alarm play a major role in early detection of fire and helps in taking step to prevent damages caused by fire. The basic objective of ACTIVE INFIRE CALLING is to automatically call fire station on detecting fire and parallel the sends the message with that location where the accident has taken place.

Keywords—Fire, alarm

1. INTRODUCTION

As urbanization is major step to make INDIA a developed country. There are certain factors which are associated with accident such as fire accident. Fire accident cannot be completely avoided but they can be prevented to greater extend so that loss of lives and damages to properties could be reduced on a large scale. Today’s fire alarm system works in three stages, first of all, if they detect smoke and fire, they alert their system. If smoke and fire continue to increase then, they active their system and in final state alarm is generated. In this way they reduce the chance of false alarm.

In this existing feature ACTIVE INFIRE CALLING adds some more features which can increase chances of safety to lives and property. During the alert phase of system, a message will be sent to local authority, so that initial or primary level steps could be taken to reduce fire. Then during active phase of system, an alert message will be sent to fire station, in order to alert them about future emergency. Then on final alarm phase, system directly calls the fire station confirming them to reach that location as soon as possible.

2. ALARM SYSTEM

The most basic alarm system is designed to only be initiated manually. This is a local warning system similar to the type installed in schools or theaters, and the signal alerts occupants of the need to evacuate the premises. While alarm standards have traditionally called this type a local system.

A wide variety of optional features are available to expand the capabilities of an alarm system. Automatic fire detection devices may be added, allowing the system

to sense the presence of a fire and to initiate a signal[1].

2.1. GSM/ GPRS Module

GSM module is a chip or a circuit that will be used to establish communication between mobile devices or computing machine and GSM /GPRS system. It requires SIM card to activate communication. [3] With the help of GSM calling can be done

General working of a Mcfa is that there are certain alarm systems which get activated on different conditions all these alarms are connected with OR gate. Even if any predefined condition is satisfied Mcfa will not sound an alarm unless there is threshold increase in CO or CO2 gases.

Mcfa still would sound an alarm if the semidarkness exceeds the threshold of smoke detector for a longer period of time.

So, this increase the surety that no false alarm is generated and it will generate when it is required. [2]

2.3 Arduino

Since Arduino is the main board, microcontroller on it which is ATmega328 is

2 used as the main controller to manage the circuit accordingly. It is a well-known open source microcontroller-based kit for creating digital devices and interactive tool that can interact with LEDs, LCD display, switches, buttons, motors, speakers and many more. The Arduino system offers a set of analog and digital pins that can be integrated to many other boards and circuits which absolutely have different functions in a design. Arduino board provides a USB serial communication interfaces for loading the codes from computer. To do the codes, Arduino has prepared its own software called integrated development environment (IDE) which completely supports C and C++

programming languages. The Arduino UNO board that is used throughout the project.

Figure 2. ARDUINO 3. WORKING OF SYSTEM

This paper describes the working of the active infire calling system. It reduces the damage caused due to fire by automatically calling fire station. When smoke and heat is detected through multi sensor signal are send to Arudino. Experimental data is used to evaluate the recommendation alarm threshold and check if any of the following three condition satisfies. If any condition satisfies then respective step is taken:

I. In First Stage: If multi sensor sense ,70 ppm continuously for 60-240 minutes then it will alert the system and correspondingly inform the local authority of the building.

So that primary steps (immediate use of fire extinguisher) could be taken to reduce the damage caused by fire. Also, the local administrator can act even if they are not present at that their building.

II. In Secon Stage: If smoke continues to increase and 150 ppm of smoke is detected by multi sensor for 10-15 minutes, then it will activate it system and along with that it sends an alert message to fire station in order to inform them of any further emergency.

III.In Third Stage: When the fire gets beyond control and the sensor detects 440 ppm of smoke continuously for 4-5 minutes then it will directly call the fire station informing about the emergency so that, they can reach the location as soon as possible

4. FUTURE WORK

Further this work can be groomed into a well-behaved device by adding more features to this, such as: The hearing aids, which could also link to things like smart doorbells, receive signals direct from alarms and turn down competing background sounds. To make the circuit complex free and less expensive. To implemented circuit by applying latest version of the renowned software.
