E-LEARNING PORTAL

Abstract- This paper goes a step further to find which learning resources do adult e- learners prefer to learn from, to complete a course successfully. In this paper we discuss how E-learning works in college. We make this project college based means this will work on local area like a college. This will aid in adopting an instructional style, which is consistent with their learning style. Every student will have to create their account on this.

And then he will be able to login to his account and watch the video lectures. In addition, the paper aims to find the essential attributes of online learning course that will ensure its success among adult learners. Some of the findings were that, online and distance education courses are preferred by full time employees who wish to improve their work performance, most e-learners learn by experimenting and feeling, videos are the most preferred resources and they should be long in length.

1. INTRODUCTION

Since the Internet was adopted and further developed as a means of communication by educational institutions in the 1970s, academics have been aware of its massive potential as a learning tool. In recent years, governments of both developed and under-developed nations have become increasingly excited about the possibilities of online learning to deliver cost effective, easily accessible and ever-current education to all ages and social backgrounds, regardless of time and geography.

In this project if any student register on the portal his/her account gets created on the portal then if the student has registered once then he will not have to register again. He will be able to login directly by entering his email and password .Whatever branch and semester he entered while registering, he will get online videos related to that subjects of that semester.

This portal is applied only for the CS and IT students of all semester. E-Learning is the learning technology that takes advantage of connectivity...learning delivered or received mainly through the internet, intranets, extranets or the web. E-Learning is networked, capable of instant updating, storage/retrieval, distribution and sharing of instruction and information.

• It is delivered to the end-user via computer- using standard internet technology.

1.1 Objective

The idea behind the development of the e-learning portal was to set up a one stop centre for reference for the purpose of electronic assisted learning such as articles, books, software, expert advice, and consultation with supervisors or lecturers. It should be noted that the print-based self instructional modules are sent to each student, and it has not been uploaded into the portal.

The portal has become a compulsory tool, and it is being used actively by both lecturers and students. E-learning reduces overall cost. Once developed, the course can be run as many times, at as many locations and for as many learners. Reduces learning time Can be taken at any time and any place If the course is designed in an interactive way, it will engage and help learners retain information.

2. PROBLEM STATEMENT

The present system is manual all the work is done manually. There is the problem of the extent of security of online learning programs. In earlier projects, we had to search subject

wise videos. The other problem is that we can’t create personal account in this app. The authenticity of a particular student's work is also a problem as online just about anyone can do a project rather than the actual student itself. The assessments that are computer marked generally have a tendency of being only knowledge-based and not necessarily practicality-based.

It is a very efficient way of delivering courses online:-

1. Due to its convenience and flexibility, the resources are available from anywhere and at any time

2. Everyone, who are part time students or are working full time, can take advantage of e-learning.

3. Web-based learning promotes active and independent learning.

4. As you have access to the net 24x7, you can train yourself anytime and from anywhere also.

5. It is a very convenient and flexible option; above all, you don't have to depend on anyone for anything.

6. Through discussion boards and chats, you are able to interact with everyone online and also clear your doubts if any.

7. The video instructions that are provided for audio and video learning can be rewound and seen and heard again and again if you do not happen to understand the topic first time around.

3. ADVANTAGES OF E-LEARNING PORTAL

4. DISADVANTAGES OF E-LEARNING PORTAL

Well, there are not many disadvantages of eLearning, the main one being that you get knowledge only on a theoretical basis and when it comes to putting to use whatever you have learnt, it may be a little different. The face-to-face learning experience is missing, which may matter to some of you.

1. Most of the online assessments are limited to questions that are only objective in nature.

2. There is also the problem of the extent of security of online learning programs.

3. The authenticity of a particular student's work is also a problem as online just about anyone can do a project rather than the actual student itself.

5. CONCLUSION

Online Education has brought a positive impact in the lives of students and working professionals. Online education has also helped the faculty in the institutions to ask students to study some part of syllabus online which do not require much of classroom instructions. So the online study helps the faculty to save time in which they can interact

with the students more. The quality of education has improved by online courses and even it has become easy for students to refer the content as per their leisure. In the era of digitalization the scope of online education increase even more and will be beneficial for students, professionals and also institutions.

5.1 Future Scope

E learning has rapidly evolved from a thing of the future to a practical approach towards education. It will continue to be an extremely useful classroom teaching tool as well as self- study platform. With the rise of virtual reality technology and augment reality solutions, experimental subjects, skill-based learning and military training will come to depend more heavily on e-learning solutions.
