RECENT INNOVATIVE RESEARCH IDEAS IN WATER PURIFICATION Varsha Ahuja

Sri Satya Sai University of Tech. & Medical Sciences, Sehore 1. INTRODUCTION

Research is a original word of English language. It is used for any action to perform frequently it means the thing is done again and again for many time certainly. This word show the process of searching something due to the process of research, the researchers collect lot of data to find out something new on his project. After the collection of data, the researcher make analysis and bring out the result. The surface the scientific investigation of some problem included in this process of research.

The most important aim of research is to search out specific answer to the specific question to seek solution of problem on the basis of collected data through scientific method to achieve this answer and solutions the main method are developed by which more possibility of the subject increase as well. Research is long and more successive process of education. If the research is performed in any form of direction every step of its arrange specific stepwise according to the study.

The total process of research is the mixture of several activities, therefore all the process of research have mutually joined with one another. Water is most easy and necessary part of our life supporting system. However because of the Rapid climb of population urbanization and industrialisation and ignorance river, Ponds, well, Canal, dams lakes and other water resources are getting polluted. Groundwater container varied quantity of various form of Ions like carbonate, calcium, magnesium, sulphate, hardness, etc. Water play or necessary role in human life.

Water pollution has caused 40% decline in life. Today sea and the rivers have become dustbin. The cities getting their drinking water from the rivers become victim of many disease which produce health crisis in men. Due to the progress in Science and Technology, agricultural, chemical, and fertilizers are being used which has led to increase in production but it has destroyed and sacredness.

This chemical dissolves in the rain water and pollute the water of the rivers viz D.D.T, chemical dissolves in rainwater and pollute the water of the river. Due to urbanization groundwater has become polluted example sewage water mingles with the groundwater and make it clean. Thus the modern man by polluting the life forces, water is making the road of his devastation.

Water is one in every of the for most vital of all natural resource known on earth it's vital to any or all living organism, ecological system, human health, food production and economic development. The security of drinkable is very important for the health. The security of drinkable laid low with numerous contaminate including chemical and biological, microbiological. Such contaminants cause serious health issues because of this contaminants quality of drinkable water become poor.

2. MATERIAL AND METHOD

Material and method present study have carried in Sehore water bodies. Out of which different station of Sehore district of MP and other water bodies are study. The study have carried out the purification of drinking water of Sehore district with reference to health impacts your city is one of the major district of division Bhopal it is located at longitude of 23 degree 12 minutes north and at an east or latitude of 70 degrees 05 minutes.

Different types of methods are used for water purification, water purification is the process of unwanted Chemicals, biological, suspended solids and gases from water the main aim of this method to produce water fit for drinking purpose but water purification may also be carried out for a variety of other purposes like medical, industrial, chemical and Pharmacological application. Various type of methods are used for water purification including filtration, sedimentation, distillation, chlorination uses of electromagnetic radiation such as ultraviolet light different types of recent innovative for water purification are as follows.

TWO STAGE MEMBRANE FILTRATION:- It is the combination of two membrane system in series would provide a comprehensive treatment that is capable of removing the dissolved and suspended material present in water. This method is

also called integrated membrane system or dual stage membrane system. This method is rapidly becoming accepted in the water treatment industries.

OZONE WITH HYDROGEN PEROXIDE ADDITION:- When hydrogen peroxide react with ozonated water it react with ozone which form hydroxyl radicals. The main aim of this method to increase the concentration of hydroxyl radicals which is stronger oxidizer than molecular Ozone. This process is used for the destruction of taste and odour causing compounds colour removal and destroy micro pollutants like pesticides and herbicides.

ION EXCHANGE TECHNOLOGY:- Ion exchange technology is the most popular method for purification of water. The technology is commonly design as fixed bed process in which the synthetic resin packed and water passes through the resin bed impure ions present in the water exchange with the ions present on the resin surface. There are various types of resins strong acid cationic resin, weak acid cationic resin, strong base anionic resin and weak base anionic resin.

BIOLOGICAL FILTRATION:- To remove microorganisms from water biological filtration technology is used. In this technology increase in the concentration of biodegradable organic matter as a result of ozonating natural water. In this method higher BOM level may result increased potential for biological regrowth. Therefore, implementing biological filtration in the water treatment plant decrease BOM concentration in the water.

BOILING:- Boiling is the most effective method for water purification is boiling keeping water at a vigorous and rolling boil for 1 to 3 minutes depending on elevation will eliminate all bacteriological boil contaminants. It is for exactly this reason that municipality is use chlorine in their drinking water we use water purification tablets for purified drinking water.

SEVERELY IMPAIRED BY PARTICULATE MATTER:- In this system the ability of UV light to reach and reactivate the target microorganism. However, if particulate matter is present in water it can protect the microorganism from the UV light and thus render the process in effective.

DESALINATION:- It is a process by which saline water is converted into freshwater.

The most popular process are distillation water and reverse osmosis. It is it is currently expensive compared to most alternative source of water it is only economically practical for high valued used in arid areas. The use of iron in removing arsenic from water is the best method of removing arsenic from water arsenic is found in groundwater and tube well in very high quantity.

DESALINATION:- Chlorination it is the most common method for water purification a dose of 0.7 mg is sufficient for disinfecting 1 litre of water chlorine is used as a bleaching powder, chlorine solution, HCl and chlorine tablets.

FILTRATION:- Filtration in this method we can remove suspended impurities and bacteria. Carbon filter remove odour and colour of water and UV rays kill all type of pathogen it is very costly method.

SAND FILTER USED IN RURAL AREAS:- In village sand filter method is used for purification of water. Water is passed through different containers containing sand, gravel and charcoal purified water is collected in the bottom of the vessel. Sand filter used in urban areas same type of technology is used in urban areas in this method overhead tank is used.

DOUBLE POT METHOD:- In this method a mixture of bleaching powder and sand is used this method ensure a constant dose of chlorine to well water for its disinfection the double pot method is particularly adopted on a mass scale when there is an epidemic of Cholera, hepatitis, typhoid etc. The quantity of drinking water has to be maintained to prevent from this disease.

3. CONCLUSION

Water industries has adopted water industries has adopted new technology that continue to be developed, tested, demonstrated and introduce in the municipal water treatment. As a cost of these Technology continues to decrease their application applicability will steadily increased, therefore no contaminants that cannot be removed from water. In our

experiment we noticed chlorine is a poison while it may bring the bacteria count in water down, it does not make it safe to drink.

There are methods of treating the chlorinated water to make it safe to drink. There are many home treatment alternative that can pure purified drinking water. Reverse osmosis and distillation are successful method removing impurities from water but they are expensive. The absolute best technology available for treating water and removing undesirable contaminants.

In water filtration water purification and disinfection is crucial. it ensure that you and your family are in a good health free from the danger free from the danger post by consumption of contaminated water. It is very difficult to choose a method of water purification for your home depending on the quality of water available in your local area.

Some methods in current used are not environment friendly this lead to wastage of resources like water and electricity.
