DISTRICT Dr. Priyanka Verma
Assistant Professor, Jyoti College of Management, Science & technology, Bareilly, U.P. India Abstract - The present short research study has been done on the subject of occupational stress of primary teachers of Bareilly district. The data was collected by servey method. 120 primary teachers was selected by simple random sampling method. For the research work the standardized tool 'Teacher's Occupational stress scale' was used developed by mr.
Sharma and S. Kaur. To analyze the data in this work mean, standard deviation and 't' test is used. The conclusion of the study is that there is no significant difference in occupational stress of government and private primary school teachers.
Keywords: Occupational stress, primary teachers.
1 INTRODUCTION
Human is a social creature. He learns throughout his life. Learning is the right meaning of education. Education is a gift in the hand of humans by which he modify his life day by day. We can achieve education by any medium. When a person complete his education he become more valuable for the society. Education is one of the most important things of life.
Education is important because it provides necessary knowledge, skill, technique, information for the success of life. Education helps a person to change the world and society education is the process of receiving or acquiring systematized knowledge. Education brings a permanent change in the thinking abilities of a person and makes them able to do certain things. According to John Dewey "Education is the development of all those capacities in the individual which will enable him to control his environment and fulfilling responsibilities". H.H Horne says. "In the broadest sense, education is the devise by which a social group continued existence renew yourself and defend his ideas".
When we talk about education there is two main person without which education can not be completed that is the teacher and the student.
Education process and people as social beings mutually is related to one another from the existence of man or mankind and so will continue to remain.
This disclose that human and society development depends on education and education as processes which enable the development of knowledge, skill and human experience. To achieve the development we necessarily must have a
leader of education process that will plain, manage and evaluate his and other work to educate teach them. There is no doubt that this is the teacher A teacher in every classroom is one of the most important person. The teacher's role incorporates a multifaceted sense of purpose intended to encourage a child's social development.
Without a good education and effective teachers, there is no progress in any of the areas important for social development, from science to art and technology.
1.1 Need and Importance
It is said that the teacher are the backbone of any society. They guide the future generation. Teachers plays a very important role in shaping the students views and attitude. Teaching is most critical but a gentle social profession that creats all other professions in the world.
Teachers are the base stones for the advancement and development of the society. As Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam said, No profession in the world is more important to the society than that of a teacher."
In India education is provided by the public sector as well as the private sector. In India there is there level of education primary secondary and higher lever. Primary education is the base of all education and success. Due to this importance the teacher of primary education plays an important role in the life of students. They act as a support system that is lacking elsewhere in students lines. They can be a role model and an inspiration to go future and to dream bigger. But besides teaching

several other responsibilities as – admission of students, interval examination, making results, conducting cultural and special programmer, preparing file work etc. Work besides teaching some – times may be the cause of stress. Stress is said to be a response of an individual towards handful effects such as irritation and helpfulness that becomes as threat to his her self – respect. Occupational stress is related with mental stress and pressure that is associated with worker's capacities.
Cotton and Hard (2003) has reported that occupational stress is a growing problem worldwide which result is substantial loss to employees and organizations. Rashmi et al (2013) conducted a study in Bagalkot district in Rajasthan found the following reason that cause stress among primary and high school teachers which are completion of syllabus, extra – curricular responsibility, unbalanced work. critonga and Nodagi (2016) state that teachers often deal with time pressure and heavy work load. Lack of teaching resources, poor relationship with management and peers deteriorated school building also add to their woes. Saravavan and Lakshmi (2017) reports that occupational stress of private school teachers one less compared to government school teachers.
Kaur and Kumar state that occupational stress is a major cavern among urban school teachers in India. Different researches shows that the teacher faces occupational stress due to different reson.
The study has wider scope but considering the limitation of time and resources this study is delimited to Bareilly city. U.P.
1.2 Objectives of the study
1. To study & compare the occupational stress of primary teachers on the basis of male and female primary school.
2. To study and compare the occupational stress of primary teacher on the basis of institutions (government & private schools) 1.3 Hypothesis of the Study
1. There is no significant difference between the occupation stress of
male and female teachers working in primary schools.
2. There is no significant difference between the occupational stress of teachers working in government and private school.
2 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
The data in the present study has been collected by survey method.
2.1 Population
In present study the population consist of the primary school teachers of government and private schools of Bareilly district.
2.2 Sample
In this study the sample consists of 120 primary school teachers of government and Private School of Bareilly district. The simple random sampling method is used for selecting teachers.
2.3 Research Tool
In the present study the researcher used the standardized tool 'Teacher's occupational stress scale' developed by M.Sharma and S. Kaur.
2.4 Statistical Techniques
In the present study mean, standard divation and 't' test were used for data analysis.
3 DATA ANALYSIS AND INTER PREDATION
In the present study, the result and discussion obtained from the analysis of objective related hypotheses and data are presented in the following order –

The above table shows that the mean of female primary teachers is 112.96 and S.D. is 10.19 and the mean of male primary teachers is 102.93 and S.D. is 9.62. The calculated 't' value is 0.83 which is lower than the 't' value i.e. 1.98 at the level of significance 0.05. Therefore the null hypothesis "There is no

The above table shows that the mean of primary teachers of government school is 111.21 and S.D. is 10.88 and the mean of primary teachers of private school is 106.03 and S.D. is 9.44. The calculated value is 0.72 which is lower than the critical value i.e. 1.98 at the level of significances 0.05. Therefore the null hypothesis 'There is no significant difference in occupational stress of teachers of primary school working in government and private school" is accepted.
4 CONCLUSION
1. Both the teachers male and female suffer the occupation stress. So the first hypothesis is accepted that there is no significant difference between the occupational stress of male and female teachers working in primary school.
2. The teachers of government schools and private schools suffer the
occupational stress. So the second hypotheses is accepted. There is no significant difference between the occupational stress of teachers working in government and private Schools.
5 EDUCATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
1. Occupational stress effects the teaching and learning process.
stress should be avoided.
2. If the teacher is stress free he/she can develop the positive attitude, enthusiasm, passion in the students.
3. Being stress tree for the students of any institution helps in the development of their personality.
4. Occupational stress affected the personal relation of any person.
5. On the basis of the findings teachers try to select high school environment to improve the academic performance of their students.
