CHRIST (DEEMED TO BE UNIVERSITY), DELHI-NCR HERITAGE WALK
DEPARTMENTOF LANGUAGES 27 FEBRUARY 2021
Department of Languages organised a “Heritage Walk” to the Undergraduate Students on 26 February 2021 from 9.30 a.m to 5.30 p.m. The students were taken to Old Delhi called Shahjahanabaad. All students gathered at the Metro Station at 9:30 a.m. All reached Old Delhi at 10.30 a.m. The students were taken to Ghalib ki Haveli and students were told about the Heritage of the place.
Then, the students were taken to Fatehpuri Masjid, where they spend time watching the architecture of the place. We then visited Sheesh Ganj Gurudwara, which was very peaceful and irrespective of all the differences, students attended the prayer and spent some time. Then they were taken to Nayi Sarak. It is a place where all new and used books are sold at cheaper prices. They bought some notes and books for reading. They had varieties of delicious street food from Paratha wali Gali and streets.
Last but not least, the students were taken to the Red Fort. They were mesmerised by the majestic beauty of the fort and the teachers explained the history of the places they visited. On the whole, it was an enriching and interesting programme.
