In LL-II trials, none of the entries were found to have a significantly higher yield than the local control, RC Maniphou-11 (4572 kg/ha). Since there is a shortage of good quality varieties with high yield and locally accepted taste, this would greatly help in increasing the state's rice production. Of the 197 entries screened under field conditions, most had bacterial blight infection.
In the purification step, specific activity was 1.3 units/mg protein, purification was 2.6-fold and recovery of the enzyme was 58.90%. A new plantation of passion fruit (Yellow variety) has been established on the ridges of the terraces. Irrespective of the crop combinations, the same treatment recorded a maximum gross return (Rs. 5.63 lakhs/ha) from the system based on the prevailing market rate.
The specific bands of seed storage protein profiles can be used as markers to identify the genotypes and to enhance future crop improvement programs. Wood bean (Parkia roxburghii L.) is one of the most important legumes grown in the northeastern region. Given this background, seven genotypes of tree bean were collected from different parts of Manipur and characterized by analyzing the SDS-PAGE protein profile of the mature seeds.
Among the Manipur genotypes, RCMKC-7 was found to be different from the rest of the group. To reveal the nature of the virus from the seed, the seed was extracted from the virus-infected plants. Of the 2,000 plants observed in the nursery, none showed symptoms, thus indicating that viruses are not transmitted through seed.
Careful analysis of the photographs did not reveal the presence of virus particles or inclusion bodies. Evaluation of the stability of sohiong pumpkin The study was carried out to determine the effect of different temperature and storage conditions on the stability of pumpkin of Prunus nepalensis (an important indigenous fruit of Manipur and Meghalaya). The least change in the TSS, acidity, pH and total sugar of the squash during storage reflected that the product was stable and there is no biochemical and microbial spoilage.
When applied to storage pests, these plants showed shock effects showing repellent activity but no insect mortality. The trial crop is now in its nascent stage; therefore, an important conclusion can only be made after the crop has been harvested. The aim of this study was to find suitable larval rearing and rearing techniques.
Injections were administered intramuscularly at a dose of 8 ml/kg body weight of the fish, into the dorsolateral region of the female body.

Role of mass media in farm technology diffusion among the farmers of Manipur The mass media All India Radio (AIR), Doordarshan Kendra (DDK), Sangai Express and Poknapam are taken for analysis. Both All India Radio and Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) give awareness and knowledge of the agriculture programmes. Whereas in Sangai Express, 20 percent of the agricultural programs create knowledge and 80 percent are only of awareness.
The pretest results show that 82 percent of respondents have little knowledge of soil and water conservation measures. The result after the test shows that 64 percent of the students have average knowledge and 32 percent of the students have high knowledge. The analysis via PRA in Khongampat Mayai Leikai village shows that 70 percent of farmers have adopted agricultural ponds.
Tillage and wide bed and furrow are practiced by more than 50 percent of farmers. Occasionally, the biomowing with banana leaves for establishing the crop is done by 20 percent of the farmers. None of the farmers practice agro-forestry, green manure, roof water harvesting and paddy fish culture in the village.
During the Kharif season, “Quality Saving Seed Production” program was taken up in the four cluster villages viz. During the year 2011-2012, cultivation of oilseed rape M-27 under zero tillage was carried out in an area of 41 ha in four villages of the cluster by 95 farmer families. Potato was also grown on a total area of 2.8 hectares, with 121 farming families in the cluster villages of the project sites being adopted.
The majority of farmers depended on the production of rain-fed crops and have not yet been exposed to improved production technology, natural resource management and post-harvest technology. Improvement of jhum areas was the main focus of the program but as the various components are interrelated; interventions are carried out in an integrated manner. Rachana, seed yield of 0.70 q/ha was obtained in 1 ha area by one farmer out of total five farmers in 5 ha area.
Pig production
For the summer, 53 farmers were adopted under seed production of maize (Vijaya Composite) from the distribution of 400 kg of maize seed. Maize seed crops are grown in different places in Chandel district covering an area of 24 ha by 57 farmers. In rice (RC Maniphou 10), the total area covered under Imphal West was 1.70 ha by four farmers and 105 kg of rice seed was distributed.
During the corn rabi season, 4 farmers sowed 130 kg of corn seed and cultivated it on an area of 4.95 ha.
