JIIA Webinar
The 2022 U.S. Midterm Elections from a Conservative Perspective
What impact will the recent severe partisan political divide in the United States have on American democracy? What will be the impact of the polarization of American politics on the foreign policy of the United States as a superpower? With the midterm elections approaching, there is now an even greater need to understand the current state of American politics, which is becoming increasingly polarized, and to consider its implications for the Indo-Pacific region.
In this webinar, Dr. Kenneth R. Weinstein, former President and CEO at the Hudson Institute, a leading conservative think tank in the United States, will be the featured speaker, who will explain how American conservatives view this midterm elections, including its diplomatic implications. Amb. Kenichiro Sasae, President of the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) will join the discussion from the perspective of Japanese diplomacy. Dr. Ryo Sahashi, Associate Professor at the University of Tokyo, who specializes in international politics, particularly in the analysis of U.S.-China relations and international relations in East Asia, will moderate the entire discussion.
We hope to welcome many of you to the webinar.
