Study of changes in mechanical and thermal conductivity properties of AlN ceramics exposed to strong ion irradiation.
Introduction
Simulations of radiation damage by Ar8+, Kr15+, and Xe22+ heavy ions with energies of 70, 150, and 230 MeV, respectively, were performed at the DC-60 heavy ion accelerator (Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan), located at the Astana base. branch of the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The temperature of the samples throughout the irradiation process was maintained in the range of 30-50°C using a special water-cooled holder. The control of the radiation temperature was necessary to avoid the processes of thermal overheating of the samples and partial annealing of the defects caused by the radiation in the structure.
The microhardness of the surface layer was determined by 25 consecutive measurements of different parts of the damaged surface and subsequent determination of the standard deviation of the microhardness value.
Results and discussion
This leads to the fact that previously isolated point defects formed during irradiation can interact when the defective areas overlap, and in this case the effect of their mutual destruction is offset by the formation of complex defects in the form of a cluster defect. The result of such overlaps is the accumulation of the defective fraction in the structure of the damaged layer, the swelling and deformation of the crystal lattice due to the expulsion of atoms from the lattice sites, as well as their subsequent migration and the formation of vacancies. . In this case, part of the damaged volume can be pushed out of the internal damaged area onto the surface in the form of hills or bubbles, the appearance of which leads to the fragility of the surface layer and a decrease in its strength.
The analysis of the obtained dependences of the change in the degree of softening shows the reverse trend of changes in the microhardness value and reflects the degree of degradation of the strength characteristics of ceramics.
The most pronounced changes in thermal conductivity coefficient are observed for ceramic samples irradiated with Хе22+ heavy ions, for which the change in thermal conductivity coefficient depending on irradiation fluence is exponential and reaches a maximum loss of 13.8% at an irradiation fluence of 1cm2015. , which exceed the permitted limits. Such a behavior of the change in the thermal conductivity coefficient as well as the dependence of the change in thermal conductivity properties on radiation fluence as well as the ion types indicate that the main mechanism affecting the change in thermal conductivity properties, in addition to deformation contribution to structural changes, is the anisotropy of electron density. As shown above, a change in the energy and type of incident ions leads to large energy losses during elastic and inelastic interactions, as well as an increase in the diameters of damaged regions [21–23].
In the case of irradiation with heavy Xe22+ ions, the diameters of the damaged zones are more than 20 nm, which, at high radiation fluences, leads to the overlapping of the defect regions and the formation of an anisotropic change in the electron density , with the formation of regions with a depleted electron density.

These measures allow fossil fuels to be part of the solution, rather than remaining part of the solution. Fossil fuels today account for 80% of global primary electricity demand; the energy system supplies about two-thirds of the world's CO2 emissions [4]. The decomposition process of fuel intensification associated with increased pressure moves the flame front away from the fuel surface.
Flame front can decrease the distance, increase the distance or remain the same distance from the surface of the liquid fuel.
Mathematical model and methods Breakup model
Increase in pressure intensifies combustion processes in the gas phase, but decreases intensity degradation of the liquid phase, which controls the combustion. In these three situations, the opposite influence of the pressure and the breakdown of the liquid phase can occur. Finally, the flux concept F comes into play due to the surface tensions on the fluid body or from heat flux through surfaces.
