Global Citizenship Education (GCE) "highlights essential functions of education related to the formation of citizenship in relation to globalization. It is important for our students to be aware of global citizenship education in order to succeed in their future lives. It is crucial to get a clear understanding of what Global Citizenship Education (GCE) is and define GCE.

According to Evans (2008); Kerr (2006;) Parker (1995) such practices are crucial to the transformative agenda of global citizenship education. The teaching methodology and understanding of global citizenship education varies according to the personal practice and/or professional development of the educator. This section presents a comprehensive explanation of the qualitative methodology chosen to examine teachers' perceptions and understandings of global citizenship education.

Second, document analysis was conducted to review school curriculum on the inclusion of aspects of global citizenship education. Third, classroom observations were conducted to see real examples of global citizenship education in action in the classroom. The purpose of the observation was to determine whether teachers include aspects of global citizenship education in their classes.

The researcher analyzed the curriculum for each subject, specifically looking for the principles of global citizenship education. Second, focusing on one school experience is insufficient to provide a broad picture of the global citizenship education situation. In general, during the interviews participants were asked to describe their understanding of global citizenship education.

They shared their ideas about positive and negative aspects of promoting global citizenship education in school. Teachers have the responsibility to promote awareness and understanding among students about global citizenship. It seems that many of the participants feel comfortable implementing the current curriculum for teaching global citizenship in school.

Some participants said that promoting global citizenship education could be quite challenging if there was little support at the national level to integrate the topic into the curriculum. From these responses, it can be understood that there is still a lesson planning gap in promoting global citizenship education in the classroom. Teachers should also be well prepared to develop students' awareness of global citizenship and to transform students' knowledge.

Additionally, the study will aim to look at the curriculum for its emphasis on "global citizenship education".
