DATIN PADUKA SERI ROSMAH MANSOR, Wife of the Prime Minister of Malaysia After completing her education, Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor launched a corporate career at Agriculture Bank Malaysia and later as Business Development Manager at Island and Peninsular Berhad where she served until 1987. Today, as the wife of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor wears many hats. She is the President of the Welfare Association of Minister’s Wives (BAKTI) and holds the position of Patron for various associations, including the Children in Hope Foundation, Malaysian Nature Society, the Foundation for the Development of Underprivileged Children and many more. Believing that human capital development begins with children, she started the nationwide movement on the development of early childhood education and care which focuses on children below five years old. She is also passionate in advancing issues such as the empowerment of women and gender equality. In recognition for her many contributions, Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor has been conferred various high awards both nationally and internationally, including an award for Social Responsibility from the city of Ankara, Turkey, and recently, she was conferred with the Honorary Doctorate of Letters by Australia’s Curtin University.
IRENE NATIVIDAD, President, Global Summit of Women (USA)
Irene Natividad is President of the Global Summit of Women, a 23-year old annual gathering of women leaders in business and government who come together to share strategies for increasing women’s economic empowerment globally. She also serves as Chair of Corporate Women Directors International, which conducts research and brings together women corporate directors from around the world on issues of corporate governance. In 2004, she was selected by Women’s eNews as one of the “21 Leaders for the 21st Century;” in 1997, as one of “25 Most Influential Working Mothers” by Working Mother Magazine, and in 1988 as one of the “100 Most Powerful Women in America” by Ladies Home Journal.
SUNG JOO KIM, Chairperson and Chief Visionary Offier, MCM Holdings AG (South Korea)
Sung-Joo Kim is the Founder, Chairperson and Chief Visionary Officer of Sungjoo Group and the Chairperson of MCM Holdings AG. MCM is the German luxury brand specializing in leather goods and apparel, built upon European artisanship. Involved in the fashion industry for more than 25 years, she has successfully launched several globally renowned brands in the Asia-Pacific region as an exclusive franchisee of Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Sonia Rykiel and Marks & Spencer. In 2005, the company acquired MCM and now operates in 30 countries with 110 directly operated stores and 200 outlets in multi-stores and department stores throughout the world. In March 2012, she was listed in the Forbes Asia “List of 50 Top Asian Business Women,” and in April 2012, she was selected by Fortune as “One of Asia’s 25 Hottest Business People.”

HELEN READ, Founder and Managing Director, MS. READ (Malaysia)
Helen Read is the Founder and Managing Director of MS. READ, retailing fashion for curvy women sizes 12 to 24. With qualifications in Hotel Management, she became an entrepreneur quite by accident. Seventeen years of manufacturing experience gave her the expertise and confidence to launch MS. READ, a brand that fulfills the niche of plus size clothing for women. There are currently 13 MS. READ shop nationwide, two in Singapore and an online shop, msreadshop.com that offers international shipping.
Helen was nominated for the Ernst & Young Woman Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2002, and was one of the top three finalists. She was also first runner-up for the National Women Entrepreneur Award in 2009 (NWEA).
JANNIE CHAN, Co-Founder and Executive Vice Chairman, The Hour Glass (Singapore) Dato’ Dr. Jannie Chan Siew Lee co-founded The Hour Glass, a leading watch retailer in the Asia Pacific region, in 1979. From a one-boutique operation, The Hour Glass Group has developed a network of 24 boutiques located in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. In August 2009, she was the 1st Woman to win the Enterprise Asia’s APEA Women Entrepreneur of The Year Award, Asia Pacific’s most prestigious award for entrepreneurs for outstanding performance and tenacity in building a successful business. Born in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia, she is the only woman executive board member of the Commonwealth Business Council, and she is also the first woman President of both the ASEAN Business Forum and the Singapore Retailers Association.
ELLIE XIE, CEO, Procter and Gamble Malaysia and Singapore (Malaysia)
Ellie Xie was appointed CEO of Procter & Gamble for Malaysia and Singapore in September 2010, making her the first woman to hold the position. In this role, she leads a portfolio of over 30 leading brands in Malaysia. Born in China, she began her career in the United States working for well-known brands such as Kellogg’s, where she was a Brand Manager, and Kodak, where she was Marketing Manager. She joined Procter & Gamble in China as part of the Gillette acquisition in 2006. Before coming to Malaysia, she was Managing Director of the male grooming business in the Greater China region.

SHARIFAH HAPSAH SYED HASAN SHAHABUDIN, Vice Chancellor of Universiti Kebangsaan MalaysiaProf. Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr. Sharifah Hapsah Syed Hasan Shahabudin is the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (The National University of Malaysia).
Prior to taking the helm of UKM, one of the four designated Research Universities of Malaysia, she was the Chairman and CEO of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), an agency that she worked tirelessly to bring into being. As an academic with expertise in medical education and education in general, she was commissioned as an advisor and consultant to the World Health Organisation (WHO), various UN agencies and international medical institutions. In collaboration with John Hopkins University, she established the Centre for Gifted Children in UKM. In addition, she is the current President of the National Council of Women’s Organizations and President of the ASEAN Confederation of Women’s Organizations (ACWO).
About the Global Summit of Women
The Global Summit of Women annually brings together women leaders in business, government and nongovernmental organizations for a three-day forum focused on best practices that accelerate women’s economic advancement. Nicknamed the ‘Davos for Women’ because of its economic focus and the caliber of its participants, the Summit provides unique networking opportunities, inspirational role models, and skills-building sessions. The 2013 Global Summit of Women takes place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on June 6-8, 2013. Under the Chairmanship of the First Lady of Malaysia, H.E. Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah binti Mansor, 1,000 women leaders in business and government from over 75 countries are expected to participate.
