MySEC2017 Chair
Assalamualaikum wbt.,
Welcome to the 10th Malaysian Software Engineering Conference 2017 (MySEC2017). The theme of MYSEC2017 is "Empowering Software Engineering Towards IOT". The theme acknowledges the vital role that Internet of Things (IoT) plays in the current software trends.
loT is poised to change the way we live our life, from commuting to entertainment and more.
With that radical transformation, comes volumes of new methods that require education for those connected to the industries that the IoT will influence in the coming years.
MySEC2017, the premier conference for software engineering in Malaysia, continues to serve as a forum for presenting topics of interest among academia, researchers, practitioners and industrial communities to discuss the most recent advances, trends, and concerns in this ever-expanding field. Their contributions helped to make the conference as outstanding as it has been. The high quality of the papers and the discussion represents the thinking and experience of authors in their particular fields.
MySEC2017 has received more than 130 papers from various countries, but only 98 papers were accepted. Each paper was reviewed by at least two reviewers. Based on those reviews, papers that adequately balanced in quality, originality and relevance to the conference themes were selected. I believe the papers accepted to be presented in MySEC2017 demonstrate new and innovative solutions, and highlight challenging technical problems in each field. These papers will be published in a
Assoc. Professor Dr.
Ahmad Shukri Mohd Noor

special issue of Journal of Telecommunication,Electronic and Computer Engineering (JTEC) that is currently indexed by SCOPUS.
I would like to express my thanks to the authors of the papers, whose work and dedication made possible to put together a conference of high technical quality. Next, I would like to thank all the members of the program committee and auxiliary reviewers, who helped us with their expertise and time. I would also like to thank the keynote speakers for their invaluable contribution and for sharing their vision in their talks.
Special thanks should be addressed to the Organizing Committee whose invaluable hard work, organising a conference of this level is a
task that can only be achieved by collaborative effort of a dedicated and highly capable team that made this event possible and finally, to the Dean and members of School of Informatics and Applied
Mathematics, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu that have supported the whole effort in making the conference a success. I wish you all an inspiring conference and an unforgettable stay in the beautiful state of Terengganu, Malaysia.
Thank you.

Digital Environment for Industry 4.0
Abstract: Uirtital environment for Industry 4.0 is cIollenginco and complex. the ý omf)It xity lies within the heterogeneous dimensions perspectives of objectives, processes, classifiers and focus domains of the IoT elements. The diversity of these multi-dimensions perspectives is good for specific goals, but less efficient to be used as a generic-kick-off preliminary viewpoint. This talk focuses on the research and development of the design, formalization and translation of a generic and simplified IoT classification mechanism through a framework. The objective of the framework is to be used as the base guideline in distinctive the IoT when necessary. The classification mechanism can be done through a series of works. First, is to determine a generic process needed for a framework. This involved the specification of the meta- process. Second, is to determine the relationship between the classification patterns. This consists of the investigation of objectives, processes, classifiers and focus domains among current prominent frameworks. Finally, is to construct the framework by establishing the formal presentation of the vulnerability classification algorithm. The discussion also pointed out how the validation process can be conducted for consistency, accuracy or ambiguity. A case studies that synergizing between software engineering and information security field is provided.

IoT - The Third Wave of Internet Tsunami is Here
Abstract: or( Ikr: ly r 't Tt: ' Irit,, rci t ýýt Thirirls (l<ý! ) toddy.
wh('ther you're familiar with the term. If your phone automatically connects to your home, or if you have a smartwatch counting your steps, congratulations!
You have adopted one small piece of a very large IoT pie, even if you haven't adopted the name yet.
IoT may sound like a business buzzword, but it's a real technological
revolution that will impact everything we do. It's the next Internet Tsunami of new possibility that is destined to change the face of technology, as we know it. Big Data is also another buzzword that is closely related to IoT. Data collected from various sensors will be useless it we are unable to derive any
meaningful insights. Thus, Big Data Analytics is a key component is the whole value-chain of IoT.
IoT represents a massive wave of technical innovation. Highly valuable companies wilt be built and new ecosystems will emerge from bridging the offline world with the online into one gigantic new sensor network. Our limited understanding of the possibilities hinders our ability to see future applications for any new technology. Mainstream adoption of desktop computers and the Internet didn't take hold until they become affordable and usable. When that occurred, fantastic and creative innovation ensued. We are on the cusp of
that tipping point with the Internet of Things.
IoT matters because it will create new industries, new companies, new jobs, and new economic growth. It will transform existing segments of our economy:
retail, farming, industrial, logistics, cities, and the environment. It will turn your smartphone into the command center and gateway for both digital and physical objects in your life. You will live and work smarter, not harder - and what we are seeing now is only the tip of the iceberg. This presentation will take you into the journey of IoT and Big Data and how it will help companies to survive in the 21st Century. The Third Wave of Internet Tsunami is Here!
