About This Course

CTM is a manual therapy and a reflex therapy which works via skin and connective tissue to influence the autonomic nervous system. CTM works on zonal skin areas via cutaneo-visceral reflexes. It influences structures within the same spinal segment, increasing segmental circulation and mobilising connective tissue. Suprasegmental autonomic reflexes are also stimulated to create balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, inducing relaxation and hormonal balance. Pain is reduced by increasing endorphin levels and CTM useful for a range of conditions including chronic musculoskeletal pain e.g. nerve root pain, connective tissue problems and hormonal imbalance.

This course will introduce the theoretical underpinning and develop practical skills to enable participants to treat patients with this effective treatment approach.
