A First Course in Gel-based
Proteomics and
Mass Spectrometry
The three days’ workshop will focus on the BASICS of PROTEOMICS including:
- Total protein extraction and preparation - Protein separation using gel-based method
(1D and 2D Gel Electrophoresis)
- Protein spot quantitation using PDQuest software and protein digestion
- Peptide identification using mass spectrometry instrument (nano-Liquid
Chromatography qTOF Mass Spectrometry) - Protein identification using MASCOT
software (please bring your own laptop)
OBJECTIVE
To understand the protocols and basics of gel- based proteomics and the application of Mass spectrometry
