Evaluation of Specialist Training Programmes

Criteria for Award of Full Accreditation

Overview:

All specialist training programmes in Malaysian must fulfil all three (3) criteria for award and duration of full accreditation by the Malaysian Qualification Agency, as well as

subsequent recognition of the programmes by the Malaysian Medical Council.

Criteria 1: Overall Score

Total Evaluation Score Year of Accreditation

≥80% 7 years

70 – 79 % 4 years

60 – 69 % 2 years

Less than 60% 0 year (Failed accreditation / unsatisfactory)

Criteria 2: Satisfactory Performance in Critical Accreditation Areas

Critical Accreditation Area Minimum Mark for Evaluation of Critical Areas

Area 1:

Programme Development and Delivery

≥60%

Area 2:

Assessment of Student Learning

≥60%

Area 4:

Academic Staff

≥60%

Criteria 3: Satisfactory Performance in other Accreditation Areas

≥50%

Area 5:
