Electrical Safety Awareness campaign for students, parents

KOTA KINABALU: Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TN H) held its Electrical Safety Awareness campaign in Sabah at SJKC SI. James as part of its corporate responsibility program aimed at creating awareness among students and their parents on electrical safety.

"The electrical safety programme will teach our kids that there are things we can all do to protect ourselves when it comes to handling electrical items.

"Some of these safety practices are easy to remember but should not be overlooked as they can prevent property damage, injuries and loss of lives," said Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia chairman Dat.uk l)r Yee Moh Chai in his speech lo officiate at the Electrical Safety Awareness campaign, jointly organized by TNB and a Chinese daily.

He added thai SEDA Malaysia supports the move by TNIi to evolve

the previous campaign theme of 'Energy Efficiency' to 'Electrical Safety' as the safety of family, friends and those around us should always be the primary concern and thoughts of

everyone.

As part of the Electrical Safety Awareness campaign, a stage presentation and exhibition with an electrical safety message for students and a colouring competition were also held.

TNB Nasional Corporate Affairs and Communications senior general manager Datuk Mohd Aminuddin Mohd Amin also handed over TNB contribution of RM20.000 to SJKC St James headmaster Chee Chi Hiung.

Also present at the function were Tham Yun Fook, Assistant Director for Chinese Schools, Sabah Education Department officer Victor Vong, and chairman of the Sabah Chinese Primary School Headmaster Council, Teng Yoon Soon.
