The gender pay gap was graphically shown here (taking into account the weighted by population). The closer a country's MGGI score is to 1.00 (100%), the more equal it is for women and men. This issue is looked at from four different points of view: economic participation and opportunity, educational attainment, health and survival, and political empowerment. Malaysia's trend in MGGI is seen to increase every year except for 2019. In 2019, it went down a little bit because the dimension index in politics had the lowest data and eight states in Malaysia scored below the national gender gap index. This shows that women are still not allowed to be ministers or people's representatives (DUN or Parliament).
conclusion
Taking action to clos e the gender wage gap is essential for e nsuring that women are heard and safe in the workplace.
Equal pay in terms of legislation is one of the efforts to address the wage gap between gend ers and achieve gender equality. This is an important issue because the w age gap is not just a women's issue. It's a f amily issue.
