This research design is very important for researchers to make valid and reliable decisions because it is the overall plan and overall structure of the study. The development of the study involved the use, much like the data collection instruments, of a formal questionnaire. However, collecting data from the entire population is unrealistic, and therefore it is essential to define the size of the sample in order to draw a conclusion that is generalizable to the population of study.
Simple random sampling is a probability sampling design in which each element of the population has an equal and known chance of being chosen as a subject (Sekaran & Bougie, 2016). That is, each of the 11,413 students at University Malaysia Kelantan would have an equal chance of being included in the sample, which would result in the most generalizable results. As a result, we can obtain more specific information about the variables when the interval or ratio scale is used instead of the other scales, because the level of accuracy increases from the nominal to the ratio scale.
The higher the reliability of a group of scale items, the higher the certainty of the obtained score. To learn more about the characteristics of the population, the data in demographic analysis will be used by most researchers, governments and non-governmental agencies. Several tests and measurements are used throughout the study to guarantee the validity and reliability of the research results.
DATA ANALYSIS AND FINDINGS
Introduction
Preliminary Analysis
For table 4.2, this pilot test was carried out using 22 questionnaires answered by 30 respondents from the main study. Pilot test is a study conducted by the researcher to test whether the study has been a problem or a mistake. So, to know whether the value of the pilot test is good or not, you need to see the value of Cronbach's alpha, which must be greater than 0.07 for the questionnaires to be valid.
Based on Table 4.2, the value for Cronbach's alpha 0.920 is greater than 0.07 and this indicates that questionnaires for this study are valid and can be given to respondents.
Demographic Profile of Respondent
The column frequency for table 4.6 above showed that the age of 23 years is the highest respondent answering financial management understanding questionnaires among UMK students survey of 295 people with a percentage of 78.7%, followed by the age figure of the next category was 20 years old of 38 people with a percentage of 10.1%, 26 years of 32 frequency and percentage of 8.5%, subsequently the number of ages 30 years with 10 frequency and percentage of 2, 7%. Based on the value obtained after completing the test, it shows that groups of 23 years are the most answered the questionnaire, because students at this age do not yet have the duty to deal with many of these financial difficulties, such as property rights, the extent of financial management in the the following parts are restricted. Table 4.5 indicates the number of respondents who completed questionnaires for this study based on race at University Malaysia Kelantan.
According to the table, the respondents who answered the questionnaires were Malaysian with 252 students with a percentage of 67.2%, followed by other races Chinese with 55 students with a percentage of 14.7%, Indian 47 students with a percentage of 12, 5%. and the other race are 21 students with a percentage of 5.6%. Regarding the year of study indicated by table 4.6 above, about 182 students of year 4 (48.5%) participate in the questionnaire response, which the highest respondent recorded for this category.
Descriptive Analysis
The standard deviation for each dependent and independent variable question is 5.42317 for financial management among UMK students, 3.33987 for financial management knowledge, 4.40026 for parental income, and 3.60842 for the issue of peer influence. I have experience in financial practice since childhood and this gives me an understanding of financial management. Table 4.10 above shows the value for each question contained in the questionnaires for the dependent variable, financial management.
There are six questions for this financial management and each question shows a different amount of Likert scale and some are the same. The column means that the highest value is in the last question of financial socialization and financial knowledge indirectly affects financial management, which is 4.15. This proves that most students understand that financial socialization has a significant impact on financial management.
The table above shows the value for each question in the questionnaires for the independent variables, namely knowledge of financial management. The table above shows the value for each question in the questionnaires for the independent variables, parents' income. The table above shows the value for each question in the questionnaires for the independent variable, peer influence.
Validity and Reliability Test
According to table 4.15, the result shows Cronbach's Alpha of Knowledge of Financial Management is 0.712. The closer the coefficient is to 1.0, the greater the internal consistency of the items (variables) in the scale. Thus, the overall value of this variable under consideration is acceptable and has relatively high internal consistency.
According to table 4.16, the Cronbach's alpha score for five items of parental income is 0.661. According to Table 4.17, the Cronbach's Alpha score for five items of the peer influence measure is 0.790.
Normality Test
According to table 4.18, the significant value of the Shapiro-Wilk test is below 0.05, the data deviates significantly from a normal distribution. The null hypothesis of the Shapiro-Wilk test indicates that the data is normal, and if the p-value of the test is less than 0.05, then you reject the mull hypothesis is 5% significance and conclude that the data is non-normal.
Hypotheses Testing
H1: There is a significant relationship between financial management knowledge and financial management understanding among UMK students. First, we can see the result of the correlation coefficient between the understanding of financial management among UMK students and financial management knowledge. Second, table 4.19 shows the result of the correlation coefficient between understanding of financial management among UMK students and parents' income.
The correlation coefficient value of 0.692 indicates that among UMK students there is a strong positive correlation between parents' income and understanding of financial management (r=0.692, N=375, p<.001). An increase in parental income was associated with an understanding of financial management among UMK students. Finally, the result of the correlation coefficient between the understanding of financial management among UMK students and the influence of peers is shown.
An increase in peer influence was associated with understanding financial management among UMK students. The independent variable known as financial management knowledge has the highest correlation coefficient with financial management understanding among UMK students. The level of knowledge of financial management therefore influences the understanding of financial management among UMK students.

DISCUSSIONS
Introduction
Key Findings
Discussion
This finding is consistent with previous research on financial education, where young people are an essential target because they need to develop financial awareness to understand the economy, manage their money and use credit wisely (Frączek et al. , 2105). Students can learn money management skills and make wise financial choices in their daily lives. Parental income has a relatively positive relationship (r = 0.692) with understanding of financial management among Kelantan students of the University of Malaysia.
Thus, there is a significant positive relationship between parental income for the understanding of financial management among university students in Kelantan Malaysia. Parents who provide more encouragement and guidance to their children are more likely to help them adopt prudent and desirable money management practices (Xiao et al., 2007). Based on the findings shown in the previous chapter, it is found that peer influence has a significant effect on financial management, with the peer influence variables having a correlation significance value (Sig 2-tailed) of 0.000.
Furthermore, this study also supports the previous study by Kadir et al. 2021) and Putri & Wijaya (2020) who say that peer influence is one of the most influential factors and has a significant relationship in understanding financial management. The more UMK students are influenced by their peers, the more they understand financial management that would result in good savings behavior and investment for future funds. In connection with UMK students, peer influence is therefore a significant factor affecting their financial management.
