Hundred in Unimas `Go Bald' for cancer funds
KUCHING: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) showed its
staunch support towards the `Go Bald campaign' by shaving the
heads of more than 100 staff and students from the university
recently
The campaign to create
awareness of children's cancer
is organised by the Sarawak Children's Cancer Society.
The symbolic shave in
Unimas is also meant to collect funds for the children through pledge cards.
According to a press
statement from Unimas, the
funds are meant to support the
families of children who have to undergo surgery.
During the event, Unimas also handed RM5,000 in donation
to the society represented by the Dean from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Science
Prof Dr Ahmad Hatta Rasit to the society's president Rizal Sahaari.
