Abstract: PT. Paragon Technology and Innovation is one of Indonesia's largest cosmetic manufacturing companies and has many leading brands that have been considered at national and international levels. To maintain a balance for business sustainability, companies must take mitigation actions through (Corporate Social Responsibility) CSR programs. The effectiveness of the CSR program is essential to evaluate to show and assess whether there is a significant positive impact on the social environment for partners and the programs they partner with, one of which is the Pondok Inspirasi Dormitory Development program in Bogor.
This study uses an evaluation method popularly used by non-profit organizations worldwide, namely Social Return on Investment (SROI). Therefore, this study aims to measure how effective the use of CSR funds of PT. Paragon Technology and Innovation in related programs can later be used as the basis for the optimization of the company. Based on the results of the calculation of SROI data for six months starting from July to December 2021, with a total positive impact of $3,53, means the program is feasible and running well for every dollar invested. Furthermore, the results of the SROI analysis also show that the Pondok Inspirasi Dormitory Development program also significantly boosted the quality of human capital from the beneficiaries.

1. Introduction
Maintaining a balance between commercial activities, social activities, and preserving the environment is very important for business sustainability. The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program is one of the obligations carried out by the company as a form of responsibility for its business operations that have caused social and environmental impacts. Ideally, the implementation of CSR programs is a genuine effort carried out by the company for social and environmental good, not only as a form of compliance with applicable regulations (McWilliams, Siegel, & Wright, 2006; McWilliams & Siegel, 2001). Therefore, the program must be well planned to get the maximum benefit for the affected community and environment.
One of the companies that run the CSR program is PT. Paragon Technology and Innovation are one of Indonesia's largest national cosmetic manufacturing companies and the holder of several leading brands such as Wardah, Make Over, Emina, IX, and Putri. There are 4 pillars
of CSR, namely education, health, women's empowerment, and the environment. In the CSR education pillar of PT. Paragon Technology and Innovation collaborate with partners, one of which is the Pondok Inspirasi Foundation.
In the era of globalization that occurs in all parts of the world, the progress of a country depends on human resources. Human resources are important because they have a large enough share in terms of planning, development, and strategy to build a country. Human resources are something that has a major role in the progress of a country. Youth are young people who must be seen as individuals who are at a certain stage in the development of human life, with certain qualities and characteristics, with certain roles, rights, and obligations, and with certain potentials and needs (Ramadan, 2015). In the development process, youth are the pioneers of change with roles as providers of moral strength, social control, and agents of renewal from strategic functions and positions in national development. Therefore, improving the quality of life of human resources, especially youth, must be further improved to equip them to build the nation. Pondok Inspirasi Foundation is one of the places that can improve the abilities of these young people. Pondok Inspirasi was established as a youth training and development institution for all of Indonesia, with the main target being the beneficiaries of the Bidik Misi/KIP-K scholarship. The Bidik Misi/KIPK Scholarship is one of the educational funding assistance under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology, which is intended for students who want to continue their higher education but are hindered by costs.
Pondok Inspirasi was founded on June 23, 2013, with the aim of creating a future generation that is tough, creative, learner, and inspiring. Pondok Inspirasi also has a free residential dormitory which has many programs for developing student abilities. Since 2020, the Pondok Inspirasi Foundation has received funding support from PT Paragon Technology And Innovation’s CSR to run Pondok Inspirasi dormitory development programs in Bogor.
The purpose of writing this paper is to measure the usefulness and impact of the effectiveness of PT Paragon Technology And Innovation's CSR funds for the Pondok Inspirasi Dormitory development program in Bogor with the SROI Method. The research team conducted in-depth observations and interviews with several stakeholders of the Pondok Inspirasi Foundation. The results of the observations and interviews were then processed using the Social Return on Investment (SROI) method to measure the effectiveness of CSR activities in dollar currency.

Paragon's CSR also develops the educational ecosystem by making Wardah Inspiring Teacher, Novo Club, and Lecture Coaching Movement. Not only that, CSR PT. Paragon Technology and Innovation also support and spread benefits for Pondok Inspirasi.
2.3 Pondok Inspirasi Development Program
Pondok Inspirasi opens opportunities for students throughout Indonesia as a commitment to expand the benefits of reaching all corners of the country. Active members of Pondok Inspirasi are students selected and declared active members of Pondok Inspirasi and regularly receive special training and coaching. The members are divided into two, namely dormitory members and non-dormitory members from various universities in Indonesia. Dormitory members are members who receive dormitory facilities (residence) in Dramaga, Bogor, while non-dormitory members are members who receive online development program facilities. On the other hand, Pondok Inspirasi also opens opportunities for non-members to learn to develop capacities and skills in leadership, career, literacy, and social life. Until 2021, 270 people are registered as members of Pondok Inspirasi, while the number of beneficiaries is more than 20,000 youths.
The guidance provided for dormitory members is carried out by the management of Pondok Inspirasi. Pondok Inspiration assisted by CSR PT. Paragon Technology and Innovation continue to spread the benefits, helping young people who need and want to develop through the provision of funds for the self-development of Pondok Inspirasi dormitory members so that they can become tough, learner, creative people and inspire many people. The self- development includes several coaching programs in the dormitory, including:
2.3.1 Scientific Writing and Literacy
Education is vital in the world of globalization, especially for access to social mobility that is increasingly fast and dynamic. A person's literacy ability becomes an essential component in formal education and is positively correlated to one's happiness and success. The study results show that today's employers want young people who are good at communication, numeracy,
and literacy and have a high hard work attitude which will undoubtedly be prospects for their future jobs (Clark & Formby, 2013)
Figure 1: Scientific Writing and Literacy in Pondok Inspirasi Dormitory
The existing literacy development programs include training in writing scientific papers such as essay writing and scientific writing training. Members of the Pondok Inspirasi dormitory are provided with materials on how to write essays and KTI (Scientific Writing) from beginning to end. In addition, hostel members also receive training in writing features and news. The feature contains tips and tricks related to social and education. It is hoped that this literacy training can form creative dorm members. In addition, the output of this training can shape the dormitory members into students and inspire them through their creative ideas. The knowledge they get can be implemented to take part in essay competitions and scientific writing. Pondok Inspirasi dormitory members also received news writing training in collaboration with Tugu Media Group. Reading book mentoring is also carried out every weekend to foster interest in reading and build reading habits. The existence of these training programs is expected to be able to improve reading, writing, communication, and numerical skills, which are very much needed in this fast-paced era.
2.3.2 Leadership and Character
Youth is a valuable resource in community development in a country. In realizing this, such as the realization of national transformation, youth skills are needed in leadership (Ekpoh, Imo, Edet, Oswald, & Samuel, 2013). Not only for human resource development, but leadership can also be essential in promoting a culture of innovation (Guzman, Muschard, Gerolamo, & Kohl, 2020). Leadership ability has become one of the focal points of training members of the Pondok Inspirasi dormitory, considering the need to build skills today is becoming more critical and demanding to grow and change with the future demands. Several programs provided by Pondok Inspirasi that support and train these skills are self-introduction training, public speaking, time management, and the importance of teamwork through several discussion groups every day.
From the various existing training, it is hoped that the members of Pondok Inspirasi are primarily ready to jump in to help develop problem-solving competencies in the community they face in the future.
Figure 2: Pondasi Academy as Pondok Inspirasi Dormitory Tutoring
2.3.3 Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship is a tool to increase economic empowerment and self-confidence (Chauhan
& Aggarwal, 2017). The ability and desire for entrepreneurship at a young age can contribute to sustainable development and, at the same time, a solution for economically disadvantaged countries (Clercq & Honig, 2011).Thus the magnitude of the benefits of this training, the Pondok Inspirasi development program was also aligned to support and maximize existing roles, such as debriefing in managing dormitory tutoring for first-year students, Kripton Inspirasi. In addition, assistance for dormitory members to participate directly in the field of developing tutoring so that they get additional pocket money from their business.
Entrepreneurship training teaches members to become strong individuals as one of the fundamental moral values that will indirectly be created over time. In addition, through this entrepreneurship training, members are not only invited to learn how to become young entrepreneurs but rather how, from the results of our entrepreneurship, we can also help people in need, such as helping the education of underprivileged children.
Figure 3: Kripton Inspirasi as Pondok Inspirasi Dormitory Tutoring
2.3.4 Graphic Design and Photography
The development of the times requires young people to be able to master many things, including the world of design. One of the most widely used types of design is graphic design, developed in electronic media and is often referred to as interactive or multimedia design. This design uses several visual elements intended to create a perception of a message to be conveyed (Andreswari, Sholeh, & Zakiyah, 2022). Realizing the importance of this, a program was created in the Pondok Inspirasi dormitory, namely receiving training in the form of making microblogs and posters using various applications such as Canva, Corel Draw, and Adobe
Illustrator. Dormitory members are given training from introducing design applications to making the design itself. Microblogs and posters are made about the world of education and society. The existence of this training forms dormitory members who are creative in expressing their ideas in the form of attractive and informative designs.
Figure 4: Graphic Design Routine Training as Pondok Inspirasi Dormitory Tutoring
2.3.5. Coaching and Mentoring
Coaching is a powerful tool for discovering the potential of individuals. Coaching is oriented to personal change and learning by optimizing the coachee's resources so that it is hoped that there will be development and problem-solving models from each concerned team. Coaching has been shown to have the potential to improve skills and assist in managing stress (Devine, Meyers, & Houssemand, 2013). Coaching also helps in various skills, including leadership, goal setting, and visualization awareness, encouraging a positive approach to competition and achieving personal well-being (Camire and Trudel, 2014). Thus, the coaching program has become a leading program given to members of the Pondok Inspirasi dormitory through the Pondasi Coaching Movement program, training to become a coach and routine coaching activities.

3. Method
The impact measurement is carried out using the SROI method which focuses on the Pondok Inspirasi dormitory development program in July – December 2021 range. SROI is a method used to measure the benefits resulting from a project/program seen from three aspects of benefits, namely economic, social, and environmental. Meanwhile, social and environmental returns can create great opportunities to demonstrate the results of many value creations. SROIs were created to make the social value more visible to a wider audience, and their use can help organizations become more transparent and accountable.
Two types of SROI have different functions and uses, namely evaluative and forecast. This type of evaluation is carried out based on the actual results experienced by the organization. At the same time, a forecast is calculated to predict how much the organization will create social value. (Montes, et al., 2021) stated that this method is based on a set of existing principles, including: (a) involving stakeholders; (b) understanding what changes; (c) appreciating important things; (d) including only what is material; (e) not excessive; (f) transparent, and (g) verify the results of the program that has been running. The use of SROI also has its advantages compared to other measuring tools, namely providing a much more comprehensive and applicable analysis, such as the cost-benefit ratio and incremental ratio (Purwohedi, 2016).
Data retrieval using in-depth interview techniques with the Tugu Media Group and data collection by surveying the dormitory members and the Pondok Inspirasi dormitory management team. The data is then processed and analyzed to obtain input values in the form of financial calculations, including the impact value reaching the present value and calculating the value of the SROI ratio. The information collection and impact determination are sourced from:
1) Information was obtained from dormitory members through direct interviews with several members and data collection through questionnaires to all members. In assessing the impact received by members, the writing team also took information from the Pondok Inspirasi hostel management team to validate and strengthen the data obtained.
2) Information from the management team was obtained through interviews and data collection through questionnaires to all management teams.
3) Information was obtained on Tugu Media Group through direct interviews with representatives from Tugu Media Group.
Implementation of this assessment activity consists of the following:
- Data retrieval: July - December 2021
- Initial data collection: January-February 2022
- Data analysis and calculation of values: March-April 2022 - Compilation of the report: May-October 2022
4. Discussion and Conclusion
4.1 Stakeholders Pondok Inspirasi
Based on in-depth interviews with stakeholders as parties who play a role in the program's implementation, the stakeholders will be reviewed using the SROI Method.
Table 1: Stakeholders of The Pondok Inspirasi Dormitory Program
No Stakeholder Status in SROI Reason
1 Tugu Media Group Yes Tugu Media Group as a partner who publishes feature works and news for members of Pondok Inspirasi dormitory
2 Pondok Inspirasi Management
Yes Pondok Inspirasi Management is the party that designed the coaching for the members of the Pondok Inspirasi dormitory.
3 Pondok Inspirasi Dormitory Member
Yes The target of the Pondok Inspirasi dormitory development program
Based on Table 1, it can be identified that there are three stakeholders involved in the Pondok Inspirasi dormitory development program. The first is the Tugu Media Group, a party assisted by feature works and news from members of the Pondok Inspirasi dormitory. Tugu Media Group helped publish the work on the Tugu Media website. The second part is the management of Pondok Inspirasi. Pondok Inspirasi management is the party that designs and provides coaching such as essay training, microblog, features, and designs to members of Pondok Inspirasi dormitory. The third party is a member of the Pondok Inspirasi dormitory who received training and guidance from the management of Pondok Inspirasi.
4.2. Impact of the Pondok Inspirasi Development Program
Based on the results of further discussions with most stakeholders from January to February 2022, the impacts have been obtained. In taking a sample of 25 members, seven members of the management team, as well as parties who are one of the stakeholders, have given general recognition. These are presented in Table 2.
Table 2: Program Impact
No Stakeholders Impact of the Program
1 Tugu Media Group Increase traffic and fulfill the weekly news content target of Tugu Media.
2 Management of Pondok Inspirasi
Improve the management ability of Pondok Inspirasi in terms of communication, leadership, problem-solving, conceptual skills, and time management.
3 Member of Pondok Inspirasi
Increasing ownership of strong, creative, learner, inspiring traits and increasing knowledge in both academic and non-academic fields.
Based on Table 2, it can be seen that stakeholders do not feel all impacts. Impacts can be identified if program indicators can be measured. Tugu Media is a partner institution that publishes feature works and news for members of Pondok Inspirasi dormitory, which affects traffic while at the same time increasing the written work produced.
During the author's study of SROI, the indicator of the Pondok Inspirasi development program was that no impact was identified. However, it increased traffic for news content could be found. The impacts listed in Table 2. are common impacts for most stakeholders. From the side of the members who participated in the coaching program, they said that they began to understand how to become a person with tough, creative, learner, and inspiring characteristics, which is the program's main icon. In addition, the various types of coaching activity programs that exist make individual knowledge more developed, and have an interest in growing to become a better person every day, especially in the non-academic field. Meanwhile, from the management side as the party that guides the members of the Pondok Inspirasi dormitory, this also indirectly also has an impact on increasing the ability of human resource management to possess strong, creative, learning, inspiring, and also increasing knowledge of skills that have sprung up both in academic and non-academic fields.
4.3 Monetization Impact of Pondok Inspirasi Development Program
Stakeholder recognition, which is listed in Table 1 and Table 2, becomes the basic reference in the monetization or pricing of an impact. The following are the results of the monetization approach to the impact of the Pondok Inspirasi Dormitory development program.
Table 3: Monetization Impact of Pondok Inspirasi Development Program

(2) Fulfillment of weekly news content target
(1) Calculating the value of the contribution of each member's article Pondok Inspirasi to the monetization value of the Tugu Media website.
(2) Calculate the cost that Tugu Media can save to get daily news content.
Fee for uploaded works and increased number of views or visits
This step is one of the important steps in calculating the SROI method. In this step, it is necessary to compare prices to determine the price of an impact. Based on Table 3, if it is seen that the impact for dormitory members is to win competitions in the fields of writing, business, and debate, then monetization immediately takes real data to members regarding the number of prizes they receive when they win a competition. The second impact for members is the increase in ownership of tough, creative, learning, and inspiring traits that occur in members and are validated by the hostel management. So, the relevant comparison price is the cost used to support coaching that can improve these characteristics in members. The third impact is calculated through the nominal amount achieved by the member when he became a speaker at an event, became a judge in a competition, and the costs incurred when participating in training to become a coach. The last measurement of the impact on Pondok Inspirasi members is through the profits earned by members when building and running a business.
Then look at the impact of the two "conceptors and instructors". Then the relevant comparison price is the cost if you become a resource person or the like. Under these conditions, a resource person is tasked with providing the material that can increase audience insight. The impact of the third stakeholder is the traffic of website visitors/readers and the fulfillment of news content, so the relevant comparison is the amount of money earned from website visitors/readers and the salaries of news writers. The pricing of an impact is dynamic because the price of the impact will be considered too expensive or too cheap. The main point is the agreement with the writing team (Member Pondok Inspirasi) with several decision indicators.
4.4 Proof and SROI Ratio
The impact calculation process should be based on the facts found by the stakeholders. These facts encourage objective calculations. The verification process will be described in Table 4 below.

for 6 months includes the cost of a dormitory house, food, water, and electricity, which is $5,965.07.
The total cost for coach training is 25 members of Pondok Inspirasi is $1960
The total cost for mentoring is 25 members of Pondok Inspirasi is $833.33
The total cost for leadership training is 25 members of Pondok Inspirasi is $166.67
The total cost for design and landing page training is 25 members of Pondok Inspirasi is $166.67
Total : $5,965.07 + $1960 + $833.33 + $166.67 +
$166.67 = $9,091.74
(3) During the SROI calculation period, members of Pondok Inspirasi became speakers 27 times and judged the competition 6 times.
• As external speakers as many as 22 people x
$133.33 with a total income of $2,493.33
• As internal speakers as many as 5 people x $20 with a total income of $100
• As a judge for the competition, 6 times x $20 with a total income of $120
Total : $2,493.33 + $100 + $120 = $2,713.33 (4) During the SROI calculation period, Pondok Inspirasi
members run a business with a profit of $1,373.33 2 The management team as the drafter and implementer of the program

Internship at PT CSI for 4 months with a total fee of
$533.33
Total = $1,013.33
3 Tugu Media Group
(1) Increased traffic of visitors/readers of the Tugu Media website
(2) Fulfillment of weekly news content target.
(1) For one year Tugu Media Group 1) (6/42) x 6 news x 7 days = 6.006
6.006 x 356 days = 2.192, 19
(still, a question mark when it comes to cashing out) Information:
42 = total 6 news x 7 days
6 news = total news base per week assumed when being productive
(2) For one year, the fulfillment of news content. Each week the content that is broadcast is around 4 to 6 news. This is the same as the target number of journalists' content production every day. The journalist fee at Tugu Media is $200.00/per month If monetized, it becomes:
$200.00 x 6 months = $ 1,200.00 Note: data processed by the author
The calculation of events for the first stakeholder, namely dormitory members, has four impacts, namely the first through the nominal amount of prizes achieved by members when they excel in winning competitions in the fields of scientific writing, business, debate, and the arts. The second impact is calculated through the cost of assistance felt by each member for 6 (six) months when receiving coaching (coaching, training, mentoring) as well as other facilities such as housing, water, electricity, internet networks, and computer facilities. The third impact is calculated through the nominal amount achieved by the member when he became a speaker at an event, became a judge in a competition, and the costs incurred when participating in training to become a coach. The last measurement of the impact on Pondok Inspirasi members is through the profits earned by members when building and running a business.
Then, the calculation of the impact of the first Pondok Inspirasi Management team uses the approach if members of the Pondok Inspirasi management team attend training classes such as communication, leadership, problem-solving, conceptual skills, and time management. The second impact is on the amount achieved by the management team as speakers, judges, and participating in the internship program.
Furthermore, the calculation of events in this third impact illustrates that for the first part, there are no factors to change in the form of monetization, while the other one uses an approach through calculating revenue sourced from advertising. This approach is based on the similarity of the indicators mentioned above.

The attribution value of 16% was obtained through a survey of members of Pondok Inspirasi because there were other parties who provided similar programs at Pondok Inspirasi. The deadweight value of 14% was obtained through a survey of members of Pondok Inspirasi because the existing impact parameters are still possible to be obtained from other parties. At the same time, the assumption of zero in the drop-off is due to the characteristics of the impact parameters that tend to continue to be generated and increase in value with the activities carried out by Pondok Inspirasi.
Looking at the overall measured SROI value of 3,53, the boarding school development of Pondok Inspirasi, which is one of PT Paragon Technology And Innovation's CSR programs, can be said to be quite effective, where every dollar invested in these activities will have a positive impact of $3,53. However, it is necessary to examine the impact value on each output and activity to find out which activities have a significant impact. In addition, it is necessary to understand the balance between the allocation of funding and the balance of social impacts caused.
4.5. Conclusion
The ratio of the results of the analysis of the calculation of Social Return on Investment (SROI) for six months starting from July until December 2021 to measure the economic, social and environmental effectiveness of the Pondok Inspirasi Dormitory Development Program in Bogor is 2.3. This means that for every $1 invested by PT. Paragon Technology and Innovation as an investor, a positive benefit of $2.3 are formed, which means that the Pondok Inspirasi dormitory training program is categorized as feasible in terms of the comparison of investment and the resulting impact. Overall, the activities in this coaching program contributed to a significant improvement in the quality of the beneficiaries.
