Integration Using Dolls
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Center for Equity and Innovation in Early Childhood University of Melbourne are organizing a workshop for preschool teachers, preschool Supervisors, ministry officials, lecturers, parents and academics in the tertiary institutions. This is a special workshop about the early childhood education which focuses on measurement of identity and integration using dolls.
WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
To use dolls creatively to measure identity in the curriculum.
To educate teachers and educators to measure integration using dolls.
To share knowledge and to socialize.
WORKSHOP PRESENTER
Glenda MacNaughton
Professor, Department of Learning and Educational Development. Dip T (ECE), Dip ECS, B.Ed, Ph D (Early childhood education)
Glenda MacNaughton has worked in the early childhood field for nearly 30 years.She is currently a Professor in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, at the University of Melbourne University where she established and now directs the Centre for Equity and Innovation in Early Childhood. Her years in early childhood have included work across all sectors as a practitioner and a manager and she has been a senior policy advisor to government in the UK and Australia. Glenda has a passionate interest in social justice and equity issues in early childhood and has published widely nationally and internationally on these issues. Her most recently published books explore approaches to teaching in early childhood and to shaping early childhood curriculum and focus on the early childhood teacher as a reflective practitioner. Glenda has just completed two projects that explore ways to centre children's voices more powerfully in the early childhood curriculum and she is currently researching how teachers explore contemporary issues in the early childhood curriculum and staff- parent relations in early childhood.
