Najibah Mohd Zin is a Professor at Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Masters of Comparative law (MCL) from IIUM, and her PhD from Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland, UK. She taught various subjects in civil and shariah laws including law of contract, law of torts, land law, Islamic legal system, family law and shariah procedures. Currently, Prof Najibah is specializing in family related laws and women’s rights. She was a visiting fellow in National University of Singapore and Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, University of Oxford in 2005 and 2010-2011 respectively. Email: [email protected]

Nora Abdul Hak, LL.B. (Hons), LL.Bs (Shariah), MCL (IIUM) and PhD (Glasgow Caledonian, Scotland, UK) is a Professor at Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia. The title of her PhD thesis is ‘Family Mediation and Tahkim (arbitration) in Resolving Family Disputes’. She teaches and researches in Family Law, Islamic Jurisprudence, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Law of Probate and Succession, and Islamic Legal System. She has published in various refereed law journals and has delivered conference and seminar papers in Malaysia and abroad.

She has been involved in a number of research grants funded by the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) and Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM). Email:

Abdul Ghafur Hamid @ Khin Maung Sein is currently a Professor of Law at the International Islamic University Malaysia. His research focus includes public and private international law, international law of the sea, international trade law, and human rights and humanitarian law. He is a Life Member of the Maritime Institute of Malaysia (MIMA), a Member of the Asian Society of International

Law, and an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of East Asia and International Law. He has authored/ edited 17 books and published numerous scholarly articles in his areas of specialization. Email:

Hidayati Mohamed Jani holds a LL.B (Hons.) and Master of Comparative Laws (MCL) from the International Islamic University Malaysia. She is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Kelantan campus and is currently a PhD in Law candidate at the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia. Her field of research is in the area of family law particularly the law relating to children and child custody.

She actively participates in both local and international conferences relating to the subject matter of her research and has published several articles on the subject. Email: [email protected].

Golam Dastagir has been involved in teaching and research over the last 29 years. Currently, he is Sessional Post-Secondary Professor at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Advancement, Centennial College, Progress Campus, Canada. He pursued PhD at the University of Hull, England, on a Commonwealth Scholarship. He is former Chairman and Professor of the Department of Philosophy at Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh, where he had also served as the Director of the Centre for Philosophical Research and Activities and as the Vice President of the Bangladesh Philosophical Association. He had held visiting positions at the Centre for Civilizational Dialogue at the University of Malaya (UM), Kuala Lumpur, at the Centre for South Asian Studies at the University of Toronto, and at the Council of Research for Values and Philosophy at the Catholic University of America, Washington DC.

Mohammad Ismath Ramzy is Senior Lecturer, Department of Educational Foundation & Humanities, Faculty of Education, University of Malaya (UM), Kuala Lumpur. He obtained his PhD in Comparative Religion at the International Islamic University,

Malaysia (IIUM). He is actively involved in Intercultural Education and Muslim-Buddhist dialogue. His interests include intercultural education, multiculturalism, sociology of education and education in a globalized world. His recent publications include “Managing Domestic Violence: Islamic Religious Perspective”, “An Assessment of Teaching and Learning Methodology in Islamic Studies” and

“Managing Cultural Diversity through Education in Sri Lanka”.

Mohammed Farid Ali is an Assistant Professor at Department of Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh, Kuliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences, International Islamic University Malaysia. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy (Muslim World Issues) in 2011 and Masters in Islamic Civilization in 2006 from ISTAC, International Islamic University Malaysia. Currently he is teaching the courses “Introduction to Fiqh,” “Qadaya Fiqhiyyah Mu’asirah (Contemporary Fiqh Issues)”, and “Islamization of Human Knowledge.”

Saidatolakma Mohd Yunus graduated with a Bachelor of Fiqh and Usul al- Fiqh and went on to do the Master of Fiqh and Usul al Fiqh (2010), and Doctor of Philosophy in Islamic banking and Finance (2015) from the International Islamic University Malaysia.

Currently, she is a lecturer at the Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge in the Department of Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh. She has written articles published in both local and international journals and has presented papers at conferences in the area of Islamic banking and Islamic transaction and contract. Her areas of interest include Islamic banking and finance, Islamic banking products, purification of non-halal income, social finance, Islamic financial transactions and contracts as well as Fiqh muamalat.

Muhamad Helmi Md Said is a Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Education and Legal Profession (CELPRO), Faculty of Laws Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He obtained his first degree in LLB (Hons.) in 2006 from International Islamic University Malaysia and holds both his Masters in 2008 and his Ph.D in 2017 from

International Islamic University Malaysia. He specialises in the area of Family Justice including woman and child issues, Procedural Laws (Criminal and Syariah), Private International Laws, Statistics for Legal Studies, and has published articles in this area in local and international journals. Noraini Md Hashim is an Associate Professor at the Islamic Law Department, Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia. She obtained her first degree in LLB (Hons.) in 1991 from International Islamic University Malaysia and holds both her Masters in 1993 and her Ph.D in 2009 from International Islamic University Malaysia. She specialises in the area of Family Law both for muslims and non- muslims, woman and child issues. and has published articles in this area in local and international journals. She has also co-authored several law books which include Family Law (for non Muslims) in Malaysia (2013) published by IIUM Press, International Islamic University Malaysia and Islamic Family Law in Malaysia (2013) published by Sweet &

Saodah Wok is a Professor at the Department of Communication, Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She obtained her Ph.D. in Mass Communications from University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA specializing in Organizational Communication; her Master of Science Degree in Development of Communication from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and her Bachelor Degree in Agricultural Science (Hons.) from University of Malaya (UM). Her research interests are in Social Media, Organizational Communication and Women Studies. She has published many articles, chapters of book and books and has presented papers at the international and national levels.

Roslina Che Soh, DPA (ITM), LL.B. (Hons)(IIUM), MCL (IIUM) and PhD (IIUM) is an Associate Professor at Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia.

Currently, she teaches family law at the undergraduate level and post-graduate diploma level. Her major research interests are in family law, children’s right, women rights and gender issues. She has been actively involved in a number of research funded by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education, namely the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS), Exploratory Research Grant Scheme (ERGS), Research Acculturation Grant Scheme (RAGS) and the Legal Department of Prime Minister Law Reform Research Scheme (JUUPM). She has recently completed the FRGS research project on “Shared Parenting in Child Custody Disputes and Its Applicability in Malaysia: Protecting Welfare of the Child After Marital Separation”. Nor Zatu Amni Mohamad obtained her first degree (2010), second degree (2012), and PhD (2019) in Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage (Qur’an and Sunnah Studies) from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). In 2014, she was a committee member of Post-Marriage Module (Muslim marriage) under JAKIM and was involved in developing the module on stress management through 'Ibadah. From 2012 to 2015, she was a part-time lecturer at the Department of Qur’an and Sunnah Studies, KIRKHS, IIUM teaching

Sciences of the Qur’an, Sciences of the Hadith, and Reflections on the Prophetic History. Currently, she is a religious teacher at Masjid Gombak Utara and Surau Mawaddah, Bandar Tasik Puteri Rawang.

Normi Abdul Malek obtained her LL.B (Hons.) and MCL (IIUM) degrees from the International Islamic University Malaysia. In 1991, she joined the International Islamic University Malaysia as a lecturer.

In 1998, she obtained her PhD from the Glasgow Caledonian University, Glasgow, Scotland. Her area of specialization is both Islamic Family Law and Family Law which is applicable to non-Muslims. She has published in various refereed law journals and has presented papers at many conferences in Malaysia and abroad.

She is involved in research pertaining to family matters sponsored by the Ministry of Higher Education. Currently, she is Associate Professor at Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia.

Sofiah Samsudin is currently serving as Assistant Professor at the Department of Qur’an and Sunnah Studies, International Islamic University Malaysia. She joined the university in 1996, after completing her first degree at the Faculty of Usuluddin, Academy for Islamic Studies, University Malaya. She obtained her second degree from University of Amman, Jordan in 1995 majoring in `Ulum al-Qur’an and Tafsir. In 2003, she obtained her PhD in `Ulum al-Qur’an and Tafsir from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Bangi.

She has written several books in Ulum al-Qur’an including An Introduction to Study Ulum Al-Qur’an. She served as the Head of Department of Qur’an and Sunnah Studies from 2008 to 2009 and has taught almost all subjects related to Qur’anic Studies at the undergraduate level, and as well as a few courses at the postgraduate level.

Nazrul Affandi Jani is currently serving as an Administrative Assistant (contract) at Student Affairs and Development Division, International Islamic University Malaysia, Gombak campus. His tasks include the training of facilitators as well as developing the Usrah module. He is also involved in teaching Fardu 'Ayn and other

spiritual courses to undergraduates. He was formerly a Research Assistant at the Co-curricular Activity Centre and part-time lecturer at the Centre for Foundation Studies. In 2014, he was a committee members for Post-Marriage Module (Muslim marriage) under JAKIM which involved developing the module for stress management through 'Ibadah. He obtained his first degree (2008) and second degree (2012) in Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage (Qur’an and Sunnah studies) from Internasional Islamic University Malaysia.

Fadhlina Alias holds an LL.B. (with Honours) from the International Islamic University Malaysia and an LL.M. in International Commercial Law from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. She is a lecturer at the Faculty of Syariah and Law, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia and is currently a Ph.D. in Law candidate at the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia. Her areas of interest are medical law and bioethics. She actively participates in both local and international medico-legal conferences, and has published several chapters in books and articles on her area of research, which focuses on the ethico-legal aspects of end-of-life care. Puteri Nemie Jahn Kassim is a Professor at the Civil Law Department, Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws in 1991 from the University of Southampton, England and obtained both her Masters in 1993 and her Ph.D in 2002 from the International Islamic University Malaysia. She further completed an Academic Fellowship at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2006.

She specialises in the area of Medical law and has published extensively in this area in local and international journals. She has also authored several books which include Nursing Law and Ethics (2012), Law and Ethics relating to the Medical Profession (2007) published by International Law Book Services and Cases and Commentary on Medical Negligence in Malaysia (2009) published by Sweet & Maxwell Asia. Mazlena Mohamad Hussain obtained her LL.B. (with Honours) and Master of Comparative Laws from the International Islamic University Malaysia. She holds a Ph.D. in Law from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and has been a member of the academic staff at Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia since 1993. Her expertise includes Criminal Law and Mental Health Law. She has actively conducted research on related issues thereto, which include an in-depth study on mentally disordered criminals with special reference to the Mental Health Act 2001 and Regulations.
