L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Fellowships 2016 Application Term & Conditions
1. Fellowship is open to all Malaysian women citizen with NRIC number.
2. Fellowships would be awarded to three chosen candidates. The amount of RM 30,000 each.
3. Fellowships will be awarded to candidates pursuing their Doctoral studies or PhD holders who are at the early stage of their career.
4. Candidates must be conducting their research in Malaysia.
5. Fellowship is open to all scientific field.
6. Candidates must be Malaysian below 40 years of age. Thus, applicants born before 1st January 1976 will not be considered under this program
7. Candidates should demonstrate academic excellence and the research project must be feasible with a high potential in contributing advances to research in Malaysia.
8. Applications must be submitted via the L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women In Science 0nline submission portal on www.fwis.fr. You will need to create an account to complete the application.
7. Each application must be accompanied by a reference letter the Dean/ Head of the unit in which the candidate will realize the research work.
8. Closing date for application must be submitted by 31st May 2016. Applications that are incomplete or have been submitted after the due date shall not be considered.
11. The selection takes into consideration the eligibility criteria, application requirements/documents and objectives and policies of FWIS.
12. The selections will be based on country standards and jury recommendations. Selection by jury panel is FINAL and will not be contested. Candidates will be evaluated on:
• Project summary
• Research plan
• Project significance/ scientific impact
• Methodology
• Letter of recommendation
• Contribution to science
• Academic achievements
• Total budget planning
• Overall quality of research proposal
13. Key Dates
• Application website will open from 1st April – 31st May 2016 (Midnight)
• Jury assessment of applications takes place between 6th June – 5th July 2016
• Jury deliberation will be conducted on 21st July 2016
• Winners will be contacted by phone and by e-mail week of 25th July 2016
• Interviews, photoshoot and videography of fellows will take place in August 2016
• Award ceremony takes place on 6th October 2016
14. The winners will be photographed, filmed and interviewed by L'Oréal Malaysia for purposes linked to communicating and advertising the "For Women in Science" programme and these photos, videos and texts will be used in publications and audiovisual means including but not limited to written press, television, internet, photographs and brochures including distribution to the media worldwide.
15. The winners expressly authorise L'Oréal Malaysia to reproduce, represent and use their image, name, distinctions and titles, worldwide. Such authorisation shall be limited to non-commercial uses in relation to the For Women in Science Fellowship programme. The winners will not receive any remuneration for such promotional activity
16. Candidates must provide 2 periodic reports of the project within one year of receiving the grant. At the end of the grant period, a complete financial disbursement report covering the entire grant period and a final progress report must be submitted to L’Oréal Malaysia.
