ANNEX I – MALAYSIA – 1 ANNEX I

SCHEDULE OF TARIFF COMMITMENTS MALAYSIA

HEADNOTES

1. The provisions of this Schedule are generally expressed in terms of the Malaysian Customs Duties Order (hereinafter referred to as “MCDO” in this Schedule), and the interpretation of the provisions of this Schedule shall be governed by the MCDO.

2. In this Schedule, rates of duty expressed in monetary units shall be rounded down to the nearest hundredth of a Malaysian Ringgit (hereinafter referred to as

“RM” in this Schedule).

3. Tariff lines indicated with “U” in each stage of reduction in this Schedule shall be excluded from any commitment of tariff reduction or elimination.

4. Tariff lines indicated with “TRQ” in the “Base Rate” column apply the relevant Tariff Rate Quota applicable to those tariff lines, as specified in the Table on Goods Subject to Tariff Rate Quota in this Schedule. This Table is based on Malaysia’s commitments under the GATT 1994.

5. The non-linear phasing of tariff elimination in this Schedule is subject to a review, which shall be completed within three years of the date of entry into force of this Agreement. Unless otherwise agreed in the review, linear phasing on all concerned tariff lines shall commence within three years after the completion of such a review.
