Course Synopsis
1 Name of Course : MEDICAL SURGICAL NURSING I (PERI-OPERATIVE, PALLIATIVE, COMMUNICABLE DISEASE AND ALTERED HEALTH PATTERN)
2 Synopsis: This module emphasizes on the clinical manifestation, characteristic, pathophysiology, diagnostic investigation and nursing management for patient with altered immunity and communicable disease. This module also will cover peri-operative care and nursing care for patient who under paliative care. Student is expected to be able to make nursing diagnosis and formulate nursing care plan for the topic listed in table of content. The care given is according to specific nursing management and diseases in those systems which will converge together with the specific nursing
procedures.

Explain the clinical manifestation, characteristic, pathophysiology, diagnostic investigation and nursing management of respective topics.
Discuss the appropriate nursing diagnosis and nursing care plan for the selected topic provided.
Perform presentation pertaining to the topic selected using information technology (IT) application.
