In connection with the signing on 8 March 2018 of the Comprehensive and Progicssive Agreerncnt for Trans-Pacific Partnership (hereinafter refered to as the “Agreement”), ¡ have the honour to conlinn the following agreernent rcached between dic Govemment of Malaysia (hereinafler refered to as
“Maaysia”) and ihe Governrnern of Ihe United Mexican Siales (hereinafter refelTed to as “Mexico”) (collectively the “Parties”):
1. For the purposes of deterrnining wheiher a good of heading 87.03 qualifies as originating in accordance with Chapter 3 (Rules of Origin and Origin Procedures) of the Agreement, Ihe applicable product-specific-rnle of origin will be:
a change lo a good of heading 87.03 frorn any other heading; or
¡1. no ehange in tariffclassilicaiion required for a good of hcading 87.03% provided there is a regional value content of aol Iess than:
a) 40 per cent under lic nct cost method: or b) 50 per ceni under lic build-down mcthod.
2. In order lo enhance the benelits of thc Agreement, hoth Parties shall endeavour to facilitate technical cooperation and eapacity huilding activities in arcas of mutual interesi in the automotive sector.
