ABSTRACT
EFFICIENCY OF MECHANIZATION PRACTICES ON HARVESTING
IN OIL PALM PLANTATION
Mechanization has been the interface of assisted harvesting in the oil palm plantation.
Over the year, comprehensive research was carried out to determine the most efficient system that suit in assisting harvesting process. The aim of study is to evaluate the most effective infield evacuation system on in oil palm plantation. Several problems has been encountered by oil palm estate plantation such as declining of foreign labour.
The study was conducted to evaluate the performance of two different FFB infield evacuation system such as Badang and Mini Tractor with Grabber (MTG). The systems are evaluated through Time of working, Working experience, Maintenance of mechanization and Topography. It is all about independent variable. For the dependency is production of yield. Above two type of mechanization, Mini Tractor with Grabber shows a efficiency as it give an advantage to assist collect FFB in Oil Palm plantation. The author would strongly recommend Mini Tractor with Grabber (MTG) as a complete interface to assist harvesting process in Oil Palm plantation sector.
