BIOSMARTEAM FSG WEBINAR HIGHLIGHTED MALAYAN TAPIR CONSERVATION
"Webinar Tapir Day Talk" was the first ever webinar organised by
Biosmarteam (BST) of the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FSG), UiTM Shah Alam. The programme was held on 30 April 2021 with the aim to raise
awareness on the importance of
Malayan tapir conservation. The event was conducted via Google Meet from 3.00 to 5.00 p.m., and attended by a total of 90 participants comprising BST committee members as well as students and lecturers of FSG.
The programme started with a sharing session by two invited speakers namely Mr Mohd Sanusi Mohamed, the Project Manager of Copenhagen Zoo Malaysia, and Mr Mohd Adli Ahmad, Head of the Centre (Wildlife Officer) of the Sungai Dusun Wildlife Conservation Centre in Selangor. Both speakers introduced and shared the conservation efforts of the Malayan tapir, which are vital to protect the endangered species. The event continued with a Q&A session and a Kahoot! game. A programme such as this should be conducted more in the future to educate the community on their responsibility in ensuring the safety and protection of wildlife.
