ABSTRAK

Perkembangan teknologi berlaku dengan pantas pada hari ini. Ta secara langsung mempengaruhi cara kehidupan kita. Ini termasuklah dalam urusan pemasaran dan pembelian produk atau perkhidmatan. Kajian ini dilakukan adalah bertujuan untuk meninjau penerimaan pengguna di Universiti Utara Malaysia terhadap e&gang.

Sepertimana yang diketahui, e-dagang adalah merupakan kaedah terbaru dalam memasarkan produk dan perkhidmatan kepada pengguna. Ia adalah hasil daripada ledakan perkembangan komunikasi teknologi maklumat pada hari ini. Ulasan karya penerimaan e&gang adalah berdasarkan b&u-buku, majalah dan juga kajian-kajian yang lepas. Selain itu, model-model yang berkaitan dengan inovasi telah digunakan bagi menggambarkan reaksi pengguna terhadap inovasi dalam kehidupan mereka. Di antara model-model yang tersebut ialah seperti Model Penolakan Inovasi dan Model Gelagat Pengguna E-&gang. Selain ity teori ‘Instrumental Conditioning’ j uga digunakan untuk menggambarkan proses penerimaan pengguna terhadap e-dagang.

Jenis persampelan yang digunakan bagi kajian ini adalah persampelan mudah di mana ia melibatkan seramai 186 orang kakitangan Universiti Utara Malaysia. Penganalisaan data yang dilakukan adalah seperti analisa deskriptif dan inferensi. Pro&k yang berpotensi untuk dipasarkan melalui e-dagang ialah tiket kapal terbang dan perkhidmatan penempahan pelancongan. Selain itu, produk yang berbentuk ilmiah seperti buku, majalah dan jumal telah mendapat sambutan dikalangan pengguna e- dagang di Universiti Utara Malaysia. Namun beg&u, keputusan yang diperolehi menunjukkan tahap penerimaan e-dagang dikalangan pengguna di Universiti Utara Malaysia masih di tahap yang rendah.

ABSTRACT

The advancement in information technology does bring impacts in our daily lives. This includes our purchasing methods. The purpose of this study is to examine the adoption of e-commerce among the consumers in Universiti Utara Malaysia. E-commerce is the new way of marketing products and services to the consumers. It evolves from today’s development in the information and communication technology. The literature reviews for this study are mainly from books, magazines and from previous studies. Models that are related to innovation are being used in order to relate to the consumers behaviors.

The models are namely Innovation Resistance Model and Consumer Behavior of E- commerce Model. Furthermore, the adaptation of instrumental conditioning model also being used in order to relate learning behavior among the consumers. The type of sampling being used in this study is convenient sampling. It involved 186 respondents among Universiti Utara Malaysia’s staff. The types of analysis being done are like descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. It shtowed that products like airlines tickets dart travel services have the potential to be marketed through e-commerce. Besides, academic materials such as books, magazines and journals are already being purchased through e-commerce. However, the analysis showed that the adoption level of e- commerce among the respondents are relatively low.
