Limited study in Malaysia context motivated further research in this topic and to take appropriate measures to deal with academic procrastination. Appendix N SPSS Output: Scatter Plot 113 Appendix O SPSS Output: Casewise Diagnostics and Summaries 114 Appendix P SPSS Output: Regression 119 .

Introduction

Sense of coherence (SoC) is an individual's confidence to manage the issues that are occurring in any situation (Williams & Katirai, 2018). As a result, it is necessary to examine whether coping or sense of coherence contributes to academic procrastination significantly among undergraduate students in Malaysia. Sense of coherence is said to be a predictor to predict academic procrastination among Malaysian graduate students in the present study.

As a result, to be linked with the current study, a sense of coherence can be used to predict academic procrastination as an immediate outcome of the study. Literature Review

According to Super et al. 2015), Sense of Coherence (SoC) is a central construct of the salutogenic model that focuses around sources of well-being and health as opposed to illness, while as shown by Mayer and Oosthuizen (2020) where they studied to explore leaders' perspectives on the sense of coherence, compassionate love and coping using qualitative research and used sampling methods such as purposive sampling and snowball sampling that consisted of 22 individuals (9 females and 13 males) and used. Academic Procrastination and Sense of Coherence Among Graduate Students Academic procrastination has become a well-known phenomenon in the undergraduate student population. As such, the indirect relationship between academic procrastination and sense of coherence among university students has been explored.

According to the results obtained from the reviewed literature, it is possible that a sense of coherence is related to academic procrastination. In this study, we are interested in investigating the relationship between academic procrastination and sense of coherence among college students. Their study concluded that sense of coherence consists of three elements such as meaningfulness.

Nevertheless, the sense of cohesion could be one of the significant variables associated with academic procrastination. Terelak and Budka (2014) stated that a high sense of coherence positively correlated with problem-focused coping.

Methodology

Online data collection was chosen because it has been shown to be cost-effective and provides easy access to relevant populations (i.e., undergraduate students), which were the target population in this study. In addition, by using online data collection technique, this helps the researchers to get data from undergraduate students who came from different countries in Malaysia. The Qualtrics anonymous online link was distributed personally and publicly to reach respondents using various social networking sites and messaging apps such as WeChat, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram, as well as shared in Facebook groups to collect data by researchers.

The researcher created an ethical approval letter to seek approval from the University's Scientific and Ethical Committee before proceeding with data collection. After obtaining approval, the researchers were allowed to distribute the self-reported questionnaire online and began the journey of data collection. Prior to data collection, approval was sought and obtained from both the supervisor and the University's Scientific and Ethical Committee.

Afterwards, a pilot test was conducted before the actual data collection with the sample of 30. The data collection process started by distributing Qualtric's online anonymous link personally to a group of known people such as our close friends who were eligible participants using several social networking sites and messaging app as Instagram, Messenger, Wechat and WhatsApp as well as shared it publicly on Facebook groups to recruit more qualified participants publicly and collect data by researchers.

Results

Pearson correlation was calculated to determine the correlation between academic procrastination and sense of coherence. Multiple linear regression was conducted to analyze whether emotion-focused coping, problem-focused coping, avoidant coping and sense of coherence significantly predicted academic procrastination among Malaysian undergraduates. Academic procrastination and sense of coherence among undergraduate students in Malaysia H2: Academic procrastination is negatively associated with sense of coherence among undergraduate students in Malaysia.

The current study showed that problem-focused coping was positively related to sense of coherence among Malaysian graduate students, which supported the proposed hypothesis H3a. Moreover, the findings from the current study also showed that avoidant coping style was negatively related to sense of coherence among Malaysian graduate students, which supported the proposed hypothesis H3c. Therefore, it can be concluded that sense of coherence was significantly and negatively related to academic procrastination.

In conclusion, the present study aimed to investigate the relationship between academic procrastination, coping and sense of belonging among Malaysian undergraduates. Results indicated avoidant coping and sense of coherence (item-10 deleted) had significant predictive effect on academic procrastination among Malaysian undergraduate students, unlike emotion-focused coping and problem-focused coping. Furthermore, there was a negative relationship between academic procrastination and sense of belonging among Malaysian undergraduates.
