.:l-:l.. ,{.d-OJ'f r1KOTA KINABALU: School of Education and Social Development (SESD) emerged as the overall winners of the Universiti Malaysia Sabah (VMS) Track and Field Meet 2014 that ended at its sports complex here over the weekend.
They cLinched the overall ti tle after hauling 22 gold, seven silver and three bronze medals.
. School of Psychology and Social Works (SPSW) finished as bridesmaids in the medal tally after concluding their challenge with five gold, two silver and two bronze medals, followed by Labuan International Campus School of Busi
ness in third. They won two gold, 11 silver and 10 bronze medals.
Eldy Sham Elron representing SESD was named as the Best Sportsman while Merry Gabali of SPSW walked home with the Best Sportswoman award.
Eldy claimed the award with his four-gold medal.feat. He finished top in three individual events namely 400m hurdles, 100m and 200m and was also part of the winning 4xlOOm quartet that won the gold for their team.
As for Merry, she won three gold medals in 100m, long jump and women's 4xl00m relay.
Eddy Rick Nelson from School of Social Science claimed the Most Promising Sportsman award. He won the gold medal in the 110m hurdles and settled for silver in the high jump.
Josephine Yaban won the Most Promising Sportswoman award. She won three gold medals in the 800m, 1500rn and 3000m.
The VaTSlty ' S Sports Unit Director Mohd Asyraaf Fong Abdullah gave away the prizes to the winners.
