INTRODUCTION
Design of Experiments is an off-line quality improvement technique that can be employed to dramatically improve industrial products/
processes and provide an analytic framework for fundamental re- search. Through its use, it is possible to isolate the cause and effect linkages between input variables and the resulting output measures of function, quality, cost and per- formance.
This course provides participants with in-depth understanding of the basic principles of experimental de- signs. Example of actual indus- trial practice are emphasized throughout the presentation.
Use of games and special simula- tion exercises accelerates the learning process.
OBJECTIVES OF SHORT COURSE
To train and equip the participants with appropriate statistical tech- niques to plan, design, analyze and interpret experiments.
To identify and characterize key product and process parameter for optimization.
To train the participants in using the statistical software DOE in the design and analysis of the experiments
