Raise awareness of KLK's policy and commitment to sustainable palm oil production and their role in it. Supplier &. In 2017, KLK established its Group Employee Grievance Redressal Policy ("GEGRP"). The GEGRP was fine-tuned in 2019 to make grievances more accessible to all levels, from grassroots to senior management.

ANNUAL RSPO CSPK VS TOTAL PK PRODUCED BY COUNTRY (mt)

The RSPO is a multi-stakeholder initiative that aims to transform the market to make sustainable palm oil the norm. Our current annual RSPO CSPK production for Malaysia is 156,877 mt, with Malaysia accounting for 41% of the total and the balance 59% for Indonesia.

TTP Online Portal

This online portal allows for large-scale traceability data collection with automated validation results. Traceability data entered into this online portal by individual users is stored securely and confidentially in a centralized cloud database.

NDPE IRF-SAT Questionnaires in Mobile App KLK has decided to adopt the NDPE Implementation

In an effort to facilitate the process of collecting traceability data, KLK, in collaboration with CORE, have introduced this year the TTP online portal, which replaces the TTP declaration in excel format. The functionality of pre-populating the previous year's traceability data in this online portal reduces the workload of our supplies as well.

Focus Group Workshop - TTP Online Portal

Two (2) focus group workshops were held virtually in August 2021 in an effort to provide more detailed guidance and promote the use of the TTP Online Portal, which we rolled out in May 2021. These workshops succeeded in guiding the participants through data entry and submission to the TTP Online Portal.

Mobile Engagement

A total of 27 participants, covering an additional 10% of third-party supplier factories, participated in the focus group workshops. Validation of Traceability to Mills (“TTM”), Supplier Profiling and Traceability to Plantations (“TTP”) analysis provided by public sources.

PALM OIL MILLS

REFINERIES AND KERNEL CRUSHING PLANTS

For KLK OLEO, traceability is defined as traceable to POM level for both palm oil-based and palm kernel oil-based feedstock, excluding internal transfer within the KLK OLEO group of companies for FY2021. The percentages disclosed were tabulated based on the weighted average purchases of palm oil-related origins processed in participating operating centers in China, Europe, Indonesia and Malaysia. 01 Supplier-specific traceability information: Suppliers submitted traceability information upon request for a specific period*, based on cloud of turbines.

If suppliers submitted statements of a certain percentage traceable to POM level, this was also used as representation.

ENVIRONMENT

These areas are also scheduled to be used sustainably for non-timber forest products such as honey, fruits and medicinal plants with the aim of maximizing the natural resources of the forest for the local community. The duration of the project is set at 3 (three) years with an option to renew. Management of the MKV areas within our Group is guided by internal policies, procedures and training.

Innovations in regions where KLK operates are subject to integrated HCV and HCS assessments in accordance with the HCSA methodology - HCSA Toolkit version 2.0. One of the priorities on our journey to sustainability is to reduce our reliance on fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides. It is believed to be one of the biggest contributors to global warming through land use change.

KLK GROUP’S BIOGAS POWER PLANTS

Our goal is to plant 1,000,000 trees to make an impact on the environment. We implemented two (2) interventions to reduce GHG emissions, namely the installation of biogas power plants and filter belt press systems. The production of palm oil generates waste, which must be handled carefully in order to reduce its impact on the environment.

In line with our goal of reducing GHG and BOD levels, KLK commissioned biogas power plants capable of capturing methane from POME and converting it into electricity. In the past decade, KLK has made significant progress in reducing greenhouse gases from POME with the integration of our biogas collection and power plants. KLK has also installed Filter Belt Presses (“FBP”) in our operations, a mechanism capable of reducing total GHG emissions from palm oil mills by 20%.

REDUCTION OF ENERGY CONSUMPTION (GJ)

As a group, KLK OLEO achieved a total saving of 41,141 GJ through process redesign, conversion and retrofitting of equipment and operational changes. One of the most readily available resource utilization options in oil palm cultivation and milling that meets both the economic and sustainability goals is the ability to recycle produced biomass. The system can effectively reduce the internal temperature of the boiler furnace and discharge the low concentration of NOx from the chimney.

The emission of NOx concentration of the original 6 boilers is reduced from 150 mg to 30 mg, which effectively controlled the generation of NOx in the production process. It saves energy, controls pollution and meets the latest emission requirements of the government of the People's Republic of China. With the installation of the new energy-efficient turbo fan that replaced the fans, energy consumption was reduced.

PLANTATION SEGMENT SCHEDULED WASTE BREAKDOWN

Our water management strategies aim to optimize water use and reduce water consumption or waste, taking into account prevailing land conditions, topography and weather challenges (impact of droughts and floods). Water consumption in the processing of fresh fruit bunches is monitored to reduce POME production in our plantation segment. Our OCs also monitor the Biological Oxygen Demand (“BOD”) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (“COD”) levels of the final discharge on a monthly basis to ensure that both parameters are in line with those of the country.

During the financial year, BOD and COD levels are within the parameters set by the regulations of the countries in which we operate. In order to maintain the quality of the water entering the waterways, riparian reserves are maintained to act as a filter.

QUANTITY OF WATER RECYCLED AND REUSED

Successfully diverted all hot condensate from the process plant for use as boiler make-up water. Non-management refers to salaried employees who are either stationed in offices or in the field. The palm oil industry is a highly competitive industry with a shortage of skilled labor.

As part of our commitment to support women to become more involved in the industry, KLK has established (but not limited to) gender equality committees and provided facilities such as childcare centers for childcare so that workers can work without worry . Our workforce and others employed in our value chain are what make our company successful. As we grow, we instill our core values to create a positive workplace and positive impacts that extend to all stakeholders connected to our business.

WORKPLACE

We are aware of the need to maintain our edge as a preferred and fair employer. In FY2019, we established a Decent Living Wage Task Force consisting of Senior Management and the Sustainability Team. The main purpose of this task force is to discuss the implementation of the new requirement set out in the revised RSPO P&C 2018 - Decent Living Wage.

Pending the establishment of a living wage benchmark, this working group developed a template for estimating the prevailing wage and benefits in kind provided to workers. Assessments were conducted virtually due to travel restrictions imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic. The assessments supported KLK in identifying any existing gaps in the implementation of the action plan on the ground and in addressing important areas of risk that may need improvement.

RISK ASSESSMENT OVERVIEW

Kekayaan: None of the workers appear to work excessive overtime, with a maximum limit of three (3) hours of overtime per day, which is voluntary; overtime rates apply to both the property and the mill. Some workers scan their employee cards at the end, rather than the beginning, of the main call, and do not scan their cards at the end of the workday, which indicates a lack of accurate data on actual working hours and off workers' hours. . PT SWP: None of the workers appear to be working excessive overtime, with a maximum limit of three (3) hours of overtime per day, which is voluntary; overtime rates apply to some positions both on property and in the mill.

All workers scan their employee cards at the beginning of the main call, but some do not scan their cards at the end of the work day, mainly harvesters, indicating that there is a gap in the collection of accurate data about the workers' actual working hours. Kekayaan: There appears to be no retention of identification documents and no restriction of movement in and out of the estates/mill, except for Malaysian government mandated COVID-19 restrictions. There appears to be no retention of identification documents, and no restriction of movement in and out of the estates/mill.

OSH COMMITTEE REPRESENTATIVES FY2021

We ensure that the best practices for safety and health are integrated into our daily operations and activities.
