KUALA LUMPUR: Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) students are encouraged to remain on campus following the enforcement of the Conditional Movement Control Order

(CMCO), as classes are currently being conducted online until the end of the year.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said this was because students were still in their study period and their semester break will only be in January or February next year.

"The Higher Education Ministry also feels that students are safer in the university campus which is a green zone. So for the sake of their safety, it is better for them to stay there.

"That is the best. There is no reason for them to go home because they are still in their study period," he said during a press conference today.
